The weekend flew by too quickly for Skylar's liking as she trudged through the crowded school hallways, yawning frequently. She was heading to her second-period calculus class with Mr. Lennard, dreading the early morning advanced math session after a sleepless night binge-watching the latest season of Demon Slayer.
As she walked through the door, she instantly spotted her friends sitting at their desks and a smile tugged up her lips.
She made her way over to them.
"Good morning, y'all." Skylar greeted as she settled into her seat between them. "Good morning, Sky." The twins replied, their expressions shifting to surprise and awe as they took in the hot pink haired girl's appearance.
"Oh my god, girl, you're so fucking pretty! Think this is the first time we saw you without makeup." Aria complimented with a smile as her twin nodded her head in agreement. "You're such a pretty girl, Sky, but why no make up today? Just curious." Jazmine asked.
"Gracias chicas and I stayed up watching Demon Slayer and I was too tired to do my makeup. Plus I didn't have enough time." She confessed with a sheepish grin.
"You and this anime, girl." Jazmine chuckled lightly with a shake of her head and Skylar huffed playfully. "Look, I couldn't help it! It was getting so good, I had to finish it! Sacrificing my sleep was worth it!"
"I hope it was worth it when Mr. Lennard starts class. Y'know he doesn't like it when people fall asleep in his class." Aria pointed out once the bell rang indicating class was starting. "I'll be fine, I promise. Everything is like review to me here."
"Mhm." Aria turned in her seat, facing the front since Mr. Lennard; their teacher had walked through the door, silently making his way to his desk.
"Good morning, everyone. Please take out your notebooks and something to write with, preferably pencils as we will pick up on what we started last week." Mr. Lennard announced as he made his way to the white board, picking up a marker to start the lesson he picked for today.

Skylar was back in the hallways, this time heading to her fourth-period English class with Mrs. Webster. As she walked past the open classrooms, she spotted the familiar twin braids and a grin spread across her face.
After entering the classroom, she approached his form that was sat in the back.
"Hey, Miles."
Miles looked up from his phone, a smirk forming as he instantly recognized her voice. His eyes locked onto Skylar as she approached. She slid into the seat beside him, crossing one leg over the other as she turned to face him.
"Hey, mami." He looked over her appearance, licking his lips in appreciation. He was beginning to enjoy seeing her bare face, captivated by how naturally beautiful she was.
"Ion think you have this class. Ain't never seen you in here before so wassup?"
"Nothing much. I was on my way to class and I saw you so I thought, why not come and say hi?"
Miles smirked, his eyes fixed on her. As he studied her face, he couldn't help but notice the faint shadows under her pretty eyes, piquing his curiosity.
"Ma', you good?"
"Yeah, why?"
"'Cause why does it look like you ain't get no sleep last night, hm?"
Miles watched as her eyes widen, she raising a hand to her face. "It's still that noticeable?" Skylar asked and he nodded his head causing her to sigh.
"I stayed up late last night catching up on my show and I think I got like two hours of sleep, possibly three." She confessed with a sheepish laugh, now using her phone to check her appearance and sighed again at seeing how tired she still looked.
"I'm literally thriving off the two energy drinks I downed in second period."
Miles chuckled finding her cute.
"You think that was a good idea?"
"No, not in the slightest." Skylar laughed and he cracked a smile, a laugh leaving him as well. Miles leaned back in his chair, manspreading slightly.
"You free durin' lunch?"
"As much as I'd love to say yes, I have to say no," Skylar pouted, feeling guilty as she pressed her lips together. "I have a study date in the library during lunch."
"With who?" Miles narrowed his eyes as a sliver of jealousy flared up inside him. Skylar bit her lip, noticing how his accent thickened as if he were angry, but his expression remained indifferent.
"It's just with a guy from my second-period calculus class. I get extra credit for tutoring students." Skylar explained. Miles nodded, but the jealousy he felt intensified slightly.
"Think you could tutor me today, too?"
The idea of her being in the library with another guy, potentially making moves on his girl, didn't sit well with Miles. And he wasn't gone have that.
"Yeah, I can fit you in. It can be a group session. Same subject, right?" Skylar glanced at her phone and saw she had just two minutes left to get to class before the bell rang.
"Sí, chiquita."
"Great! I'll see you then, but I gotta get going if I wanna make it to class on time." Skylar pushed back her chair and stood up. "'Ight, lemme walk you." Miles began to rise from his seat, but Skylar stepped closer, positioning herself between his parted legs.
"No, it's fine. You're already here in yours and I'd hate to make you late again." She leaned in so their faces were just inches apart. "You can walk me to our fifth-period class after lunch, ¿vale papí? (Okay, papi?)"
Miles nodded, a smirk playing on his lips. "'Ight, mami."
Skylar tilted her head and planted a quick kiss on his cheek before straightening up.
"When the bell rings for lunch, just head straight to the library. I'll meet you there." Skylar was out the door in seconds, leaving Miles's class in stunned silence after witnessing her kiss his cheek. Miles's smirk faded into a crooked grin, as the lingering feeling of her lips ghosted his skin.
