Germany has a fear of werewolves, the reason is because of the werewolf of Bedburg, also known as Peter Stumpp. a German serial killer, that in recordings, said the people caught a wolf, and turned to Peter Stumpp.
What scares him even more were the events that came afterward, Peter's admitting to the events, and his execution. I won't go into his execution, for weak stomach readers, but it is gruesome, you can watch the Lore podcast, or look up how he was executed if you are interested, but let me remind you, it is gruesome.
This also is one of the reasons his necklace is silver.
