Once a year, Canada will receive an anonymous tulip (obviously from The Netherlands). This makes him feel known, and recognized, actually the first time he received one he thought it was a wrong address. Every time he receives one, he puts it in a vase and sets it where he feels would look best.
This is also a tradition in real life, where the Netherlands gives Canada many tulips as a thank you for hiding the royal family during WWII!
