After the train groaned into the station and they retrieved their bags, the group made their way to a massively expensive hotel in downtown Vienna. Bennett looked at Doc as Nguyen let out a low whistle. Doc smiled and started towards the entrance.
"If there is one thing to know about me, it's that I'm very entitled when it comes to my hotels. Now behave, I'm a rewards member and would very much like to not be kicked out of this place for good." Doc made her way to the desk where the concierge hurriedly gathered paperwork together for her. Royce looked at Freya's eyes disassociate in the direction of a well polished piano. Did she used to play? There was still so much he didn't know about her prior to anything mentioned in her file. He didn't care, but he had caught some interesting expressions come across her face when no one was looking. Nguyen broke his train of thought.
"I wonder where everyone else is staying at. It cannot be as nice as this. Sometimes I really wish I would've been around the same time you two were so that I could've made some money," he rambled. Royce shifted his gaze to Aris. They really needed to get her clothes that fit. They all stuck out like a sore thumb and it made him very uncomfortable. Freya started walking in their direction with the room keys.
"I got you boys a conjoined suite next to mine so we could stay close. Magi should have stocked the rooms with our formal attire. We will reconvene in two hours to go over our plans for the evening. I expect our 'itinerary' should already be up there as well." She stated as she handed everyone a key. And here Royce thought he was the team leader.
With that they made their way up to their room on an elevator that ran on a counterweight system. The rooms were just as lavish as the lobby and just as she said, there were tuxedos laid out for them on the beds next to an envelope. It was the mission details. In all the years and various missions, Royce couldn't think of anything that would top an objective like this. He chuckled at the thought of this Ocean's type heist. Things were a lot easier when the biggest threat he'd have to deal with was a terrorist. He'd give his left nut to go back to the days where a dude in a plastics vest was his biggest issue. Then again, this is the closest thing to fun or excitement that he's had in a few hundred years. He glanced over at the tuxedo with a scowl. Now, for the monkey suit. He slipped the starched white button up on and attempted to do his bow tie. The damn thing was not cooperating. He sighed and looked over at Nguyen who was dressed in some sort of Asian influenced dress uniform.
"Don't look at me, there's a reason I'm leaning into the Viet stereotype. I have never and will never learn how to tie one of those things. You're better off asking Doc. Maybe she's had a lover that was, as the old folks referred to as bougie" Royce groaned at the use of old and bougie in the same sentence. He was right though, Doc seemed to have a wild set of skills in her arsenal. He went over to the door that divided the rooms and heard music playing from what he could assume was one of those big music box's that could play a full song. He heard a soft hum as he opened the door quietly.
She stood across the room as Aris helped her with the buttons on the back of her dress. It was a floor length form fitting dress in a dark blueish green color and the sleeves were loose but came to a cuff at the wrist. The neckline was high but her back was exposed to show a beautifully intricate tattoo of a snake running down her spine. The tattoo perplexed Bennett. She must've gotten it pre-exposure because tattoo ink doesn't stick due to the healing factor, but that would mean that the loss of mass wasn't from behind like he'd originally thought. If you weren't paying attention, you couldn't even tell the faint scar lines that showed on the two inches of exposed skin from her ear to the top of her dress collar. He wondered if she chose this kind of dress on purpose to hide them.
She stopped humming and turned her head towards Royce as he entered the room. She changes her face again to that of curiosity and switched off the music.
"Can I help you?" She says as she adjusts her dress. Royce holds out his bow tie defeatedly. She smiles knowingly and gracefully maneuvered around her stuff over to him. She took the bow tie from his hands and had him step closer to her.
