"I really dislike the city." Keiko frowned, staring into the city that never sleeps with a coffee in hand, gripping its handle with such force that Pierre, who sat across from her, wondered how the cup hasn't shattered into tiny pieces.

"And why is that, miss?" He dared to question despite knowing not to interfere with her thoughts when she was in an irritated state.

Keiko glanced at him, though in Pierre's eyes was a glare, and sighed. "You've known me long enough that I value my peace as much as I valued my family, Pierre. And how is one supposed to find peace in a city that never sleeps?"

"Just a suggestion, miss, and with all due respect: Have you considered seeking peace in not the word or concept itself, but rather, through someone?" Pierre suggested, and though Keiko could feel that he meant good, she couldn't help but feel the slightest bit offended.

"You've been with me through thick and thin, Pierre. I think you of all people should know that I've tried that method more than once." Keiko mumbled, averting her eyes from his and moving it once again to the view of the city.

"I meant genuine love, miss. Not compelling them to do as you wish, which you have done multiple times." Pierre took a second to respond, trying to think of any other way to respond nicely as he always has been, but this was simply a situation where nice is out of the question. He was risking his own life here.

"If you don't shut your mouth the next thing to come out of it will be your teeth." Keiko seethed, the truth of Pierre's words bringing a painful pang to her heart.

"All I'm saying is that you should give love a try. I can see it in your eyes miss, I know you've been longing for love. Even before you turned me, there's this look in your eye when speaking to those who you don't adore. Or basically not speaking at all. Your eyes hold nothing in them, almost an endless void of absolute nothing. That even when you smile, when supposed to feel happy and positivity, you have completely no spark in your eyes." He stood up and made his way to her side of the table and grabbed her empty cup from the table before making his way towards the door, probably to the kitchen to wash the dishes.

"And I believe that love will change you. It changes all of us, and I speak with experience. I know how they all say to let love find you, but you've waited far too long miss. If fate's planning to let you be alone for the rest of your immortal life, then it's time you step up and bend fate's will with your own very hands." Was what he last said before making his exit.

A singular tear escaped Keiko's eye, and what if fate was far much stronger than me?

Was there ever a day where Keiko woke up and there wasn't a problem at hand that needed to be desperately fixed? The answer is, obviously, no.

"Killua, love, it is five in the bloody morning. I know I said I'd help, but it is far too early for me to be dealing with your shenanigans right now. Call me after I had my morning coffee." Keiko grumbled grumpily before removing the device from her ear and clicking the bright red button, ending the call.

Keiko sat up, yawned, stood up, and made her way towards her bathroom. She brushed her teeth, washed her face, washed her body, and made a beeline straight for her closet.

The Rei made sure to have all of her closets in all of our houses throughout the world stocked up and ready to go whenever, and the one in YorkNew was no different. She scavenged through her closet, and decided to be comfortable considering the amount of trouble today was about to bring her. Her day hasn't even started yet but she could already sense the amount of stress today would bring her.
