"You look ridiculous." Keiko spoke up, stifling a laugh as she looked at Chrollo's bruised and battered face. His swollen cheek and the trickle of crimson down his face being a consequence to his recent actions.

The two found themselves still chained together, currently getting dragged towards the direction of a plane.

Chrollo sighed, wincing slightly. "All I said was that I had nothing to say to him," he murmured, "he must have anger issues."

Keiko raised a brow at his words, "seriously? You don't see how that could be taunting? That comment wasn't exactly the wisest and nicest move."

Chrollo mimicked the raise of her brow, "and you mistake me for someone who cares."

"Well if you didn't care, you wouldn't be sitting here with a swollen face. You could've handled that a whole lot better." If only the chains weren't binding the two of them together, the girl would've for sure crossed her arms.

Chrollo simply chuckled, "handling it better wouldn't have been as entertaining. Besides, I don't mind the bruises. They add character."

Keiko shook her head. "You're acting like you yourself isn't enough. Keep this up and next time, it might not just be a bruise."

Chrollo's eyes darkened slightly as he met her gaze. "If I wanted to avoid risks, I wouldn't be in this business. But don't worry, It's nothing I can't handle."

"Right— because you're so almighty powerful after surviving a two against one against the Zoldyck's but have gotten captured by a mere teenage boy whose clan you apparently mercilessly slaughtered." The Rei snorted.

"You underestimate the wonders of vengeance." Chrollo sighed, "it drives one so out of character that they begin to question if they're even themselves anymore. They begin to become emotionless, begin to feel guilt with every kill, but slowly and surely, they begin to accept who they are. All for the sake of avenging their loved ones."

Chrollo then intensely stared at the back of the last surviving Kurta, "and he, unfortunately, is on that exact path."

"I've done lots of avenging throughout the centuries, Chrollo. I know full well of what vengeance does to someone." The girl mumbled, "but you're right. He is on that path, and it's a shame. He's far too young to continue down such a destructive road. Vengeance consumes you, and before you know it, there's nothing left but an empty shell driven by a single purpose. A purpose that, once fulfilled, leaves you lost in the void."

Chrollo nodded. "Indeed. But it's not just about the path he walks; it's about the destination he seeks. His journey will reshape him, make him into something new, something more... ruthless. It's a transformation that cannot be undone."

The girl watched as Kurapika continued to walk, his posture tense and devoid of rest, and her expression slightly softening with a look of understanding. "I wish there was a way to save him from that fate. He's so young, but vengeance has taken its hold on him, like a poison. It spreads, corrodes, and leaves nothing but darkness in its wake."

Chrollo's eyes darkened as he heard the girl's words. "And there's no saving him, not even those close to him. Darkness has consumed him, and he'll find himself seeking a situation where he plays victim just for the sake of revenge. It's a cycle, a relentless pursuit of a goal that, once achieved, only leaves him empty and craving more."
