After school Chloe dropped Sylvie off at the ranch before leaving for work. She worked at a diner in Bozeman to help her parents out with money. John had offered to help them out multiple times, but Chloe's dad was too proud of a man to accept any "charity".

Sylvie didn't feel like being cooped up in the lodge so she decided to go for a ride. She went upstairs, thankful no one other than Gator was home, and to her room.

She threw her backpack on her bed, not even wanting to think about the amount of homework she had to work on. Before disappearing into her closet.

Pulling her dress over her head, Sylvie tossed it on the ground planning on picking it up later before grabbing a worn pair of her jeans and a royal blue tank top along with a thicker pair of socks so she wouldn't get blisters from her boots when she was riding.

After getting dressed and sliding on her riding boots, Sylvie grabbed her hat off her hook on the wall and her phone before closing her bedroom door behind her.

She made her way down the stairs before pausing when she saw John about to walk up them. He gave her a small smile and Sylvie but her cheek and went to walk past him but he stopped her by gently grabbing her arm.

"Honey, please. I can't stand this hostility anymore, I get it from everyone else but I can't take it from you." John sighed deeply

"I don't know what you want from me, da-" Sylvie started before shaking her head. "I don't even know what to call you anymore."

"You can call me whatever you want." John shrugged before gesturing to the living room. "Please, come sit."

Sylvie sighed, she really didn't want to have this conversation right now. She's still reeling from the dinner and her conversation with Rip. She kinda wishes none of this had ever came to light and she could've remained ignorant to the truth.

But it was really hard for her to not speak to John, she has been his little shadow since she was a baby and her favorite person. Giving him the silent treatment was exhausting and she couldn't do it anymore.

"Ok." Sylvie said softly

John couldn't help the sigh of relief that escaped him as he led Sylvie into the living room. He was afraid she would deny his request, and he couldn't say he would blame her.

But he is glad she didn't. He misses his little sunshine and the distance between them has left a gaping hole in his heart. One that he hopes can be patched up as he tries to make things right with Sylvie.
