I tossed and turned on my bed as I tried to get the sun out of my eyes when I already heard my mom yelling at me. "Y/N! You have to get up at some point! You told your dad you'd go with him!" I groggily got up and rubbed my eyes as they got adjusted to the light, then it hit me, Omg I was goanna go fishing with him! I quickly got changed and did my morning routine as I ran down the stairs almost tripping on my shoes. "Did he leave?!" I ask tying my hair in a messy ponytail. "He's not even awake yet I just wanted you to help your sister pick some apples" My mom says smiling. Why am I not surprised? She would always play tricks on me like this, guess that's just the way she shows love. I Loved it but she didn't need to make me rush to get out of my room like that, I could've slept longer.

"You could've just asked." I say in a playfully annoyed voice crossing my arms. "You wouldn't have come down as fast though." She spoke with her usual smile as she prepared some dishes. I just rolled my eyes and walked outside to find my sister already six feet high in a tree picking apples. "Be careful up there!" I said in a smug tone holding back a snicker. "Yea yea I know." My sister says in an annoyed tone looking down at me only to roll her eyes and go back to what she was doing. My little sister, Hika was seven years old, only a year younger than me. "It's not my fault you almost fell off last time." I say snickering as I watch her pick an apple off the tree. "Catch!" She says as she throws down the apple. I catch the apple and take a bite. "My favorite." I say as I continue eating my apple, they were always my favorite fruit. A few apples and bickers later my dad came out of the house with two fishing rods ready and his silly hat on. "Okay let's go Y/N!" He says as I run over to him, and he hands me my fishing rod. "Finally," I say with a smile as he pats my head, "bye Hika!" I say with a big smile waving goodbye. "Bye sis!" She says with a smile as she takes the bright red apples we gathered to my mom. "Be careful you two!" My mom says as me and my dad walk away to the direction of the pond. Me and my dad went to the lake and fished for about two hours, we only caught one fish, but it was really fun overall.

On my way home I saw Enya, I've known her since birth, she was a few months younger than me, and my best friend, and her mom Hikaru Kijima the sweetest person on earth and my second mother. "Enya!" I yell with a smile as I run up to her and hug her. "Y/N!" She says with a smile as she frees her arms to hug back. "Hello Mrs. Kijima, Enya, how are the two of you?" My dad says smiling holding the fish we caught in a bucket. "We're doing just fine Mr. L/N and you?" Mrs. Kijima says smiling. "We're doing great!" I say smiling. "Yeah." My dad added as he ruffled my hair, and I swatted his hand away. "Hey Y/N, can you come over to play for a while?" Enya asks. "Well," I say slowly turning to my dad, hope in my eyes. "If it's okay with Kijima." He says smiling. "Of course, we do love having her over." She say's smiling. I give my dad a big hug and then leave with Enya and her mom. We got to her house and played around for a while, we even went to our favorite flower meadow where these beautiful red spider lilies grew, they were Enyas favorite. We were running around the house playing tag when Enya bumps into a closet. She stumbles back and it opens, and a katana falls out, it was about to cut Enya, but before I could think I pushed her aside and took the cut myself. I winced in pain tears started at the corners of my eyes, but I kept them in. "Mom! Y/N got hurt!" Enya yells as her mother runs over. Mrs. Kijima runs in the room to see me holding my arm tight blood trickling down and Enya starting to tear up. "Oh girls." She says sighing as she quickly runs over to get some bandages. "The cuts deep it's going to leave a scar, you girls should be more careful." She says in a caring voice as she wraps the white bandage over my arm.

As she bandages my arm with the white cloth I look over at the katana, it's a brown color with silver, at its hilt a simple oval with decorative flowers. After she's done bandaging me up, I look at Mrs. Kijima and ask. "Mrs. Kijima why do you have a katana?" I ask my voice still a little shaky as I raise my hand to wipe away my tears from earlier. She sighs and stays quiet for a while. By her look I can tell it's not something she chooses to talk about just for conversation. She speaks slowly "Well I used to be a demon slayer." she says looking like she's trying to find the rights words to continue. "What's that?" Me and Enya ask. "The demon slayer corps is an organization unknown by the government," another pause, "we undergo brutal training to learn different breathing styles and how to decapitate demons and," she sighs and pauses, longer this time, "demons are man eating monsters. Even worse they can regenerate any cuts and even lost limbs, the speed of their regeneration depends on how many humans they have eaten; some have special abilities called "Blood demon arts" these give demons even more power and the more humans they eat the more powerful they become." Me and Enya just sat there our faces pale; we had no idea such a dangerous creature existed on this earth, they only thing stopping them from completely destroying and killing us all was the corps. Taking innocent human lives, it made me sick to my stomach. And worse humans are at a big disadvantage, the demons are stronger, faster, have special powers, and can regenerate. Were so lucky to have such powerful demon slayers or we would all probably be dead.
