The Same Again

   After the two months ended me and Enya decided to leave the butterfly mansion so we could focus more on missions, so we said goodbye and left. We both had learned so much, we both mastered total concentration constant and got so much stronger. Over the next three months we fought demons going from mission to mission occasionally stopping here and there on our free time. I became so good at fighting that I usually only had to visit Shinobu for medical visits once a month, the other nine times were just because I wanted to see her, Aoi, Naho, Sumi, and Kiyo. Enya got better too; she went to see Shinobu for medical reasons more often because she was more reckless.

   Just three more months and it would have been Enyas thirteenth birthday, and we would have fulfilled our promise. A week later we were on a mission together when a crow assigned her to a different mission in the middle of it. "Maybe you should wait till we finish this mission; we do work better together." I told her, "Come on, you can handle this mission, and I'll handle the other one so we can meet up later for other missions." She responded. "I still think you should wait." I argued, "Y/N, I'll be fine." She said as she walked away. "I still don't think this is a good idea!" I yelled, "I can't hear you!" She yelled back.

   It took me about two hours to find and kill the demon, thanks to my intense trainings I beat them with only a few scratches. Right after I started walking to where Enya headed, either to help or meet up with her. As I was walking over, I saw her crow fly above me, so I thought she was nearby until the crow started yelling. "CAW DEMON SLAYER ENYA REQUESTED HELP DEMON SLAYER ENYA REQUESTS HELP!" As soon as I heard that I ran and the only thing I could think of was Please Enya, please be alive!

   I kept running, Enya's crow guiding me to where she was. It led me into a forest, as I was running through, I spotted a clearing in the forest, it was pretty with moonlight shining through and a river with clear blue water now with blood mixed into its flow. My heart sank when I saw my best friend, beat up, coughing blood, and with ice piercing her chest between her heart and her stomach. I ran up to her as fast as I could, "ENYA!" I screamed as I cut down the ice, shit shit shit "Enya, Enya please talk, please, your goanna be alright, okay? We just have to get you to Shinobu. And then-" "Y/N" Enya cut me off, "Y/N, we both know I won't make it in time." She said her voice slowly fading, "No, no, no no no no! Enya please we promised! You promised! You can't do this to me! Please just stay alive! I need you please! Please! Please!" I said sobbing, not again I can't lose someone again. "You're the only sibling I have left! I don't care if were not related my blood! Please! Stay with me!" She started crying, "Y/N, please don't cry, promise me you'll still try and be happy." She said, by the sound of her voice I could tell she didn't have much time left. "How can I be happy when you're leaving me?!" I say still sobbing uncontrollably. "Just please, stay alive, okay?" she said, "But, but" "Y/N, please." She said still crying softly. "Okay, I'll try." I say crying. "I love you sister." I said, Enya smiled, " I love you too sister." I hugged her and she hugged back, until I didn't feel her grip on me anymore.

   "Enya? Enya?!" I asked twice with no response, and I started sobbing again, "ENYA!" I screamed, sobbing, the pain in my scream was too obvious. Then I sensed an attack from behind, so I grabbed Enya and moved away. "Well, your quick~" A voice said. I put Enya's body down as I turned around to see a demon boy with purple hair and pink eyes and he had what looked like a suit with a cape jacket and in his eye was written, lower two. "Your little friend's death was interesting, until I lost interest. So, I'll kill you and then maybe then by boredom will vanquish." He said, I was staring at the ground as I wiped my tears. "Are you listening you little brat?!" The demon said, I looked up mumbling. "Dead, dead, dead." I kept repeating, my voice barely a mumble. "Speak up you little bastard!" I looked up, my eyes burning with rage, I was shaking, from despair, from anger, from whatever it was I was going to use it. "I WANT YOU DEAD!" I screamed as I charged towards him and was able to cut his arm off as he moved away.

   "At this point who doesn't~" He responded as he regenerated his arm. I charged at him again, aiming for the neck but instead slashed his arm off again. "Well, aren't you a fierce one." He said, this time I looked at him and yelled, "WHY WONT YOU JUST FIGHT?! YOU KILLED MY BEST FRIEND AND YOU JUST TALK LIKE SHE NEVER MATTERED!" I charged at him again with more force, "Earth breathing, Second form, Eternal Wildfire!" This time I was fast enough to cut his body in half because he jumped up instead of to the side, but he regenerated fast enough to land on his feet. "Okay enough playing, around." He said as he cracked his neck and sent shards of ice towards me.

   I deflected most of them with my sword only two getting to me. "Looks like you have a situation ~" The demon said, I looked to my arm and leg where the shards had hit, and a small patch of ice had formed. I ignored it since I barely felt it and charged towards the demon, but as I did, he summoned towers of ice. "Earth breathing, fifth form, Sharp leaves wind!" I cut down every tower as I closed in on him but as soon as I got close, he sent more of his ice shards, I deflected some, but a few got to me. "Your stronger than you look, I have to say you did surprise me." I stood in a battle stance in front of him breathing heavily, "Shut up." I spoke, "I don't want to hear any of your bullshit."

   "Oh why~?" he said, "I thought you wanted to know how utterly worthless your friend was." I immediately charged at him getting close but then he but an ice tower between us, so I cut it down into pieces, "Don't EVER talk about Enya that way again you piece of shit!" I cut his arms off just before he sent more shards, and I had to back off. "You're really starting to piss me off." The demon said in the most serious voice he has used so far. He sent more ice towers, but they were a horrible blood red color, "Earth breathing, sixth form, Animals Deadly Claws!" I cut them down, but they were tougher than the ones before and they kept coming making deep cuts on my body as I kept going pushing myself until I got to its neck.

   He sent more ice crystals, but this was the only chance I had to end him, so I ignored them and went straight for his neck, "Earth Breathing, eighth form, Feral Forest Slash!" And with that I decapitated him at the cost of many shards piercing my skin. The demon let out a maniacal laugh as he crumbled away. "Your goanna die here with me!" I looked at him and kicked his head away, "I promised her id live, I refuse to not carry out her final wish." The demon crumbled away. And I fell to my knees.

   After a few minutes I got up and slowly walked to Enya and picked her up. My body was in pain, so much fucking pain, it was the worst pain I had ever felt, and for me that's saying something. My body and heart could barely take it all. I used my breathing to level out as much as I could, I refused to let that be the end of me, not when she wanted me to live. Tears streamed down my eyes, not planning to stop anytime soon as I help my best friends body in my hands, it was only a while, but her body was already ice cold. I felt my own body turning colder by the minute, the patches of ice slowing my movements. I walked out of the forest, the sun rising as I continued walking. "I'm sorry you couldn't see the sunset Enya." I whispered as I kept walking, I walked for a while until I started to pass out. "No, no, no" I mumbled, I saw kakushi heading towards us and I turned around as I passed out so I wouldn't land on Enya. The last thing I saw were the kakushi swarming us as I lost consciousness.
