The Light in the Mist (Y/NxMuichiro)

First Hashira Mission, and Realization.

   The next day I had gotten a message that my new sword was ready and would be delivered today because the one I had before was badly chipped due to the whole battle. As I waited the memory of Enyas death was catching up with me, it was my fault even from the beginning she only joined for me, so in reality, I was to blame. My thoughts vanished when Aoi came to inform me that Haganezuka had arrived. I went to where he was and when I saw him, he looked, angry.

   "Hello Mr. Haganez-" I was interrupted when he started yelling, "HOW DARE YOU CHIP THE SWORD I WORKED SO HARD ON!" He was steaming mad, literally. "Sorry but the demon was strong and-" "YOU BETTER HAVE BEAT THIS DEMON IF YOU HAD THE AUDACITY TO CHIP THIS SWORD!" He shouted. "Yea I did-" "GOOD!" He yelled as he handed me my sword and left.

   After I got my sword, I got my first assignment from Master, I was to go on a joint mission with the mist hashira Tokito. I've known him for a while, just not well. I started heading to where we are supposed to meet, on the way I was thinking on how my first mission as a hashira would go, especially with all that's happened.

   I arrived at the spot and saw Tokito staring at the clouds. "Tokito? Are you ready?" I asked quietly so I wouldn't startle him. He looked at me and nodded his head, so we started to head to the town, on our way there I tried to talk to him. "So, when did you become a hashira?" I asked, "I think it was two months" he answered. "Wow that's so impressive!" I stated, he just kept walking. The whole time I was trying to make small talk, but he just gave me dry answers.

   Once we got there it was still daylight so the demon wouldn't be around, but we heard whispers that children were going missing near the rocks at the river, so we at least knew where we were going to search first. We were walking around town when I spotted a ramen restaurant. "Hey Tokito, wanna get something to eat?" I asked, he was busy staring at the clouds, so I grabbed his sleeve and dragged him in. "What did you do that for?" He asked, "I was hungry." I say smiling confidently. "You're not the brightest, are you?" He said, it sounded so straight forward it startled me. "Uh- I- Well, you know what just no." I responded with. We ordered and ate, and it was really yummy.

   After that I spent the rest of the day marveling at random things as Tokito followed me around and questioned how short my attention span was. As the day ended, we made our way to the river, the river was beautiful but the land surrounding it was all rock. As the sun set and the darkness took over, we heard someone approaching so me and Tokito hid behind a rock. It turned out to be two children who came, they seemed to be looking for someone. I looked around when I saw someone standing on top of one of the tall rocks, I signaled Tokito, and he nodded.

   He was going to sneak behind the demon, and I was going to be ready to save the kids if anything went wrong. I was keeping an eye on them when I saw that Tokito started to fight the demon, so I grabbed the kids and took them somewhere safe and told them to be quiet as I headed over to help Tokito. Out of nowhere giant rock towers showed up, I climbed one and took a look from above and saw Tokito fighting a demon with short brown hair.

   I jumped from tower to tower to make sure the demon wouldn't spot me, Tokito's fighting style was amazing. He dodged every attack and countered them too. When the demon looked like he was backed into a corner he built a wall between him and Tokito, so I stepped in and attacked from behind. He put his hand in front of my sword and blocked my attack, I backed up and got my next attack ready.

   "Earth breathing, third form, Raging Rivers!" I attacked and exchanged a few slashes before I cut his arms off. Tokito then stepped in and cut his head off, "HOW DARE YOU-" he had no chance to finish since Tokito cut his head up to little bits. "Wow" I said. "Let's go." He stated, "but what about the kids?" I asked, "They're not of importance." He said as he kept walking. "Oh no you don't." I grabbed his sleeve and dragged him to where the kids were. "What are you doing?" He asked letting me drag him since he knew I wasn't goanna let this go. "To check on the kids." I stated, he sighed and let me do whatever.
