As her hand dips into the water, it became enveloped by the cool embrace of the liquid. Ripples danced across the surface, following the gentle caress of her fingers as they glide through the aquatic realm.

Athena's hand felt the fluid resistance, the sensation of water parting and yielding to its touch, creating a moment of serene connection between skin and liquid.

Submerged in the aquatic world, her hand experienced a weightless sensation, floating in a tranquil oasis where time seems to slow down, allowing for a brief escape from the rush of the outside world.

Athena groaned, watching the water move violently as her brother reached in and threw it on his face. Her quiet and peaceful moment had been ruined. "Must you make so much noise?" Athena asked Uhtred, her brows pinching together as she turned her chin to face him.

Uhtred merely grinned at her, shrugging his shoulders with no care. "Yes, I do, sister." Uhtred's grin didn't drop as he suddenly had a mischievous glint in his eyes.

Athena rolled her eyes, turning her attention back to the water, embracing the coolness of it against her fingers.

But a gasp left her lips as she felt the droplets of water splash against the side of her face. Then Uhtred's chuckle hit her ears, watching as her mouth was agape, her eyes wide as she wiped the water.

Athena turned her face to look at him, her eyes suddenly narrowing as she reached into the water, cupping her hands together and holding onto the water.

She then moved her arms to throw the water on him, this time, she was the one who laughed, watching as Uhtred shook the water off of him.

Their sibling bickering was cut to an end as a someone cleared their throat behind them. Their chuckles died down as they turned, seeing Guthred stand before them.

The man offered both of them a smile, something held in his hands. "The priests tells me it is you two I must thank for my freedom."

Athena and Uhtred both shared a look before standing, standing side by side as they looked at the priest. "We did not raise the ransom."

"A ransom was not paid." Guthred quickly said, shaking his head with the smile still gracing his lips. "It goes back to the Church."

Uhtred chuckled at that, wiping his hands on his trousers. "Some coins should go to them, the lepers." Uhtred said, looking away from the man for a moment. "Without them, we'd all be dead."
