The sky cried so hard today, releasing it's tears and wrath upon the people below, the ocean's roaring in their shared dance with the falling rain, water splashing against the hard rocks, the roaring, the thunder, everything in motion and full of passion, the water currents twisting stronger, the rain hitting harder, the waves fighting amongst the intensity felt the same when Hongjoong's mother died, everything was pulsing and alive.Hongjoong couldn't sleep that night, he could hear the soft patterns of his dad's snoring, the soft sounds comfort, Hongjoong used to hate his snoring, but Hongjoong knew that they wouldn't have much time together, and Hongjoong surely did he want his last memory to be of his fish shop closed.
The anxiety is running in Hongjoong's head, he surely couldn't have really agreed to the preposterous idea that Seonghwa had told him, but he did, of breaking into the governor's house and removing all the paperwork so the new act couldn't go through, but he would do anything for his old man just to smile at least during his final resting days.
Hongjoong fell asleep to the tempo of the raging storm, she wasn't happy, but Hongjoong fell into a slumber world with water in his eyes.
DREAM (HONGJOONG 1ST POV)(He was a young kid)The sounds of my mother's heartbeat filled my eardrums, pitter pattering with immse flow, each beat and movement i could feel as my tiny head lied against her chest, her long black hair and her beautiful Hanbok flowed with the ocean's coastal winds, mama was truly beautiful, the way the wind danced with her, and the way the sun played with the shines of it, holding me closely, as she looked out towards the ocean with hope in her eyes, a beautiful poetic hope.
"Hongjoong, isn't the ocean beautiful? oh, how it is so beautiful."She spoke in such grace and gentleness, as she was worshipping, little did she know the beauty would eventually claim her, forever drifting as a lost spirit in the ocean's heart, becoming with it, flowing with her, for all the days that will come much after her very time.
I looked out towards the ocean, feeling the wind on of my face as i untucked from her chest, the way the waves moved in pure delight, the way it called out my very name, whooshing and spinning, not a hint of her immortal rage find in those deep currents.
"Without the ocean we are nothing, she gave us life, and she will gladly take back her children of the sea, without her, this beautiful would've have been nothing, even the most driest and hottest deserts once had her beautiful song in them, once making them alive with her very blue spirit, remember, Hongjoong do not fear her, she is what gives us life."
"Yes mama."
She smiled, and kissed my forehead "Remember, if don't make it on this trip, remember you can always look for me in the sea, i hear her call my name even now, it must be soon before i can return home away from this physical vessel that constricts my spirit to join her."
"Why she kill us? aren't we her children?"
She turned her head downs me, her pure brown eyes that sparkled in the sun had a look of gloom and sadness to them, happiness vanishing.
"Because, we all come from our mothers, and we all go back."
"Does this mean i will come back to you?"
"Yes my dear son, you'll always come back to me, in this life and the next, i gave you my soul when i birthed you, you will always be my child, the one i carried and sung to in my womb."
Her voice had sweetness in it, she always loved me, she always lived for me, and even died for me. I was her baby, as she we made eye-contact, something was different her eyes, a emotion ive never seen displayed, peace, peace was her in eyes, as if she knew the fate that was ahead of her.
As she choked on the very water, she loved, expanding her lungs for final time, as she jumped into the sea, the wetness soaking, she could not see her child drift off as a soul so soon, seeing his eyes, grabbing his hands, and with the last strength, pulled him up, but couldn't find it to pull herself up as she finally felt the peace and freedom she always been looking for, never did she suspect she would find it on such a stormy night as the ocean finally tucked her in for a long needed peaceful rest waiting forever to find her son in her arms again. .
"But mama,"
She smiled at me, "What Hong?"
"Will you love me then, as you do now?"
Her lips trembled, her eyes squinted, her tears fell like raindrops from the heavenly sky,
"I promise, and if i don't, i promise i will, i will always find you, in this world or the next, you will never be alone, you are my soul, just like sea, you gave me life."
My mother's words, always spoke in my heart, though i was young, and we were still in our Korean Homeland, her and dad always talked about leaving the Joseon mother land, as more violence and wars sparked, my mother was a angel, even with my own memories of her now fading.
