Silenia's POV
I woke up this morning and remembered why I had fallen asleep happy. Lord Zeus had spoken to father about school and he had said yes! I stood up and twirled around my bedroom. I'd never act like such a ninny in front of father, but he wasn't around. As I got up, my mini furies that acted as my maids melted from the walls and led me to my bathing room. Pain and Panic, father's minions that had assigned to serve me, followed, blindfolds over their eyes as the furies undressed me and I climbed under the waterfall and got clean.
"Alright we need to hurry up! Let's go! Times a wasting for the first day of school!" Panic said. I got of the waterfall and the furies held out a towel for to walk into. Pai and Panic followed as I went back to my room and dressed for the day.
"Alright." Said Pain as the furies dressed me in my black dress and black cloak that I wore everyday. "We got a schedule and it says that school starts in about two hours. "
"That's just enough time to get you ready and to school." Panic said as we walked to the dining hall, the furies carrying my long cloak. My father often went to far to make my happy, but I did appreciate the help with my heavy cloak. Pain set a tray of fruit and nectar in front of me as I sat down. Pain and Panic were like my nannies. My father usually took care of me, but when he was just too busy, he had these two look after me. Soon after breakfast, I went to say goodbye to my father for the first time. The Underworld was like our house and I have never left it. Not even sure if I had entered it. I was just born here. I entered my father's throne room and bowed to him. Then I ran and gave him a hug.
"Goodbye father." I told him. "I'll see you after school."
"Goodbye my little sweetheart." Father told me. "Don't worry. Pain and Panic will be there in case you need help." I nodded, then left the room. I went outside where Pain and Panic were waiting in a chariot that was black and decorated with flames. That's when my puppy Cerberus came over to play. I patted each of his three heads and told him,
"Sorry boy. Not today. I have to go to school." He looked upset, then ran off. Father had gotten him for me when I asked him why there was nobody but him, Pain and Panic to play with me when I was younger. Cerberus was my lifelong playmate. But today was no day for playing. Pain and Panic drove the chariot up a tunnel, where I could see light brighter than any torch. Then we were out of the Underworld. It was so beautiful! The sun shone bright and warmed my pale skin. The sky was blue and the grass was a brilliant green colour. But I remained sitting up straight and looking professional. I'd have to meet the grass later. When we pulled up to the Prometheus Academy, I felt my stomach do a flip flop. We pulled up next to a bored looking man who looked like he'd rather be anywhere but here.
"Excuse me?" He asked, stopping the chariot. "Do you have a student ID?"
"Oh no sir." I told him. "I'm the new student. My name is Silenia? You may have heard of my father." I wasn't sure how well the gods were known to the mortals.
"Oh really? And who Is your father?" He asked he chiseled something onto a piece of stone.
"Hades, Lord of the Dead." I told him. He looked at me and his face went more grey than Charon, Father's gondolier who drove the dead people to and from the Underworld. Then he chuckled and handed me a load of papers which I handed off to Pain ad Panic.
"Okay. Now these are all papers that need to be signed." He told me. Then he handed me the stone he was chiseling and it had a picture of me and some information, then card with a load of numbers on it. "And this is your student ID and locker number and combination. Have a good year Miss Silenia."
"Thank you." I said cheerfully. The we drove into the school, where all load of people were walking around. Then the chariot stopped and I stood up as Pain and Panic lowered a step, and began to speak. Oh gods.
"Ladies and gentlemen!" Pain shouted.
"Boys and girls of the Prometheus Academy!" Panic added on.
"We are proud to present, the Daughter of the Dead, Silenia!" I walked off the step and onto the ground, waiving at everyone who was staring. Then I went to find my locker while Pain and Panic parked the chariot. That's when I met Prince Adonis. I was at my locker and he came striding up.
"Hello there New Girl." He greeted, leaning up against a locker next to me. Gods he was cute. You don't get many cute boys in the Underworld. Usually old men.
"Hi" I said.
"Allow me to make your day even better by introducing myself." He said rather cockily. "I am Prince Adonis of Thrace, sole heir to my Dadum's throne."
"Nice to meet you Prince Adonis. My name is Silenia of the Underworld, I guess sole heir to my father, Hades' throne." I said, giggling. But Adonis didn't laugh. His face went whiter than a skeleton. Then he laughed nervously.
"Really? Well then we do have something in common. Why don't you sit with me at lunch today? You look rich enough and gorgeous enough for it." he asked me.
"Really?" I asked incredulously. I never expected to be invited to sit with someone on my first day of school, let alone be told that I was gorgeous. "I'd love to! Thank you!" Then he walked away, smiling. I turned around to head for my first class, when I heard screaming coming from the sky. I looked up, and stepped back as a boy with crazy black hair, wide eyes, what looked to be melting wings, and a flaming kitan fell right where I was standing. Then, without any type of warning, I was smacked in the face. Actually, I was smacked everywhere. Something came and hit me and pushed me up against a wall that was twenty feet behind me. I coughed at the dust that was settling around me and wiped myself off. I looked to see what it was and it was a boy on a flying horse! The horse was white with a sky blue mane and it's wings were huge and majestic. The boy was a tall with orange hair and awhite kitan, and blue eyes. He had a face that looked like it apologised a lot and was really tan.
"Oh my gosh! Are you okay?" He asked, getting down from his horse and helping me off the ground.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I said, standing up. Then the falling boy came over.
"Herc!" He shouted. "You have got to work on your carching skills! I flew to close to the sun AGAIN and you promised to catch me!" The red haired boy, Herc, rolled his eyes, but was smiling.
"Sorry Icarus. I guess Pegasus flew too fast again." He said. Then he turned back to me. "Sorry for hitting you with my horse. I'm Hercules by the way. That's my friend Icarus and that's Pegasus. And I'm a hero in training." I watched as he struck a heroic pose. I giggled and held out my hand and we shook hands.
"I'm Silenia, the daughter of the dead apparently. Why does everyone seem to have some type of fancy title? Why can't it just be Adonis or just Hercules? Why does it have to be Prince Adonis of Thrace or Hercules, Hero in Training?" I asked him. Icarus popped in right between us.
"Well you see, Silenia, titles are everything here. If you don't have some sort of fancy title, well then you won't get too far in the social pyramid." He explained.
"Then What's your fancy title?" I asked him.
"My fancy title?!" He screamed. You could tell that getting to close to the sun really did a number on him. "My fancy title is Icarus, the kid who flew too close to the sun! TWICE!" I held my hands to my ears. Then he gasped. "CASSANDRA!" He shouted, then ran off. Hercules and I laughed.
"So I guess you met Adonis, huh?" He asked me, changing the subject.
"Yeah." I told him. "He invited me to sit with him at lunch." Hercules looked shocked.
"Really?" He asked incredulously. "Nobody gets to sit with Adonis on their first day!" I was confused. Adonis seemed like such a nice person.
"I guess I got lucky." I told Hercules. Then I waved goodbye, and went to find my first class.
(Phew! Long chapter! And their is still more first day left to go! Stay tuned! Also, the guy in the picture above is Adonis)
