Months went by, and I slowly began to realise that I liked Hercules. Like, really liked him. And I quickly came to realise the Adonis was a self centred jerk. Now, don't get me wrong, I did try to destroy Hercules. Sort of. I threw monsters his way, I gave him some poison, I even hired Doubt to come and hit him. But it never worked. At least, I made sure it never worked. Then I tried staying away from him. But he always came back. Soon, I just plain disobeyed my father and hung around him. I always told my father that I was with Adonis. He approved of that. Soon, the Aphrodesian Dance came around. It was a whole night dedicated to Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Everyone was trying to get a date. I was SO hoping Hercules would ask me. Cassandra wanted to go alone, but she went with Icarus. Hercules asked every girl but me and Cassandra to go. He even asked the ugly cafeteria lady. She told him that she couldn't go because she had to pick the hairs out of her mole. And not the animal. The one on her face. Ew
"I can't believe every girl turned me down." He told Icarus and I during our art class with the old and ugly Mr. Pigmailien. We were sculpting things out of clay. I was make a fire breathing hydra while Hercules and Icarus worked on making a vase. Then a woman with long orange hair, a green dress, and a slender body came in. She was beautiful. And she came up and kissed Mr. Pigmailien!
"You forgot your lunch sweetheart." She told him. Hercules and I looked at her in surprise.
"Who's that?" Hercules asked. Icarus looked up for a moment and shrugged
"Oh that's just Mrs. Pigmailien." He told us.
"Mrs. Pigmailien! How did old man Pigmailien get that?" Hercules inquired. Icarus told us how the clever old art teacher built a woman out of clay and had Aphrodite bring her to life! Hercules seemed to like this idea. So after school, we all went over to his and Phil's island and he went work. I finished up my little hydra while Icarus made more pots and Vases. Then Hercules claimed that he was done. Icarus and I looked at her. She was, a bit, strange.
"Nice!" Icarus exclaimed. "You were going for gorgon?" He asked. I stifled a giggle. Hercules looked unsure.
"Well, Aphrodite will get the idea." Then he walked away and looked up. "Aphrodite! Goddess of Love! I beseech you!" He shouted. I rolled my eyes. I could easily get Aphrodite by calling out "Hey Aphrodite, can you give me a hand?" And she'd come. But these mortals had to be dramatic. Then she appeared, floating down from the sky.
"Greetings mortal! I am Aphrodite! Goddess of-" then she saw who she was talking to. "Oh wait, you two are like Zeus and Hades' kids aren't you?" She asked we both nodded. She laughed." Oh what's relief! You know. I have been swamped by losers who can't get a date! So, what can I do for you?" Hercules looked sheepish .
"Can you, uh, bring that girl to life? I uh, need a date for the dance." Aphrodite looked disgusted.
"Wait, you couldn't even get a date?" She asked.
"I tried! But fighting monsters is easy. Getting a date is hard." He whined. Her look didn't change
"Okay! So you wanted to take the easy way, huh?" Then she walked over to Hercules' "girl" and made a disgusted noise."okay I'm thinking makeover." She said. Then she redid the girl and made her looke perfect. The girl looked like she couldn't have been wearing a tighter kitan and her hair was so long and beautifully curled. I looked at my longer than life straight black hair and sighed and my dress that didn't sit on curves and didn't make me look skinnier that I actually was, I was already a stick. But Hercules wasn't done with his perfect girl.
"I like her, but I really like tall girls." I was short. "And can we make her a little curvier?" I had no curves. "A little curvier?" Hercules begged.
"Okay thats curvy enough for you young man!" Aphrodite told him. Then he claimed her perfect. "Are you forgetting something?" The goddess asked.
"Hm, me, beautiful date, dance..." then he gasped. "The corsage!"
"Hello!" Aphrodite shouted at him. "Her personality?" I knew what he was going to say. Something to top her off. He made her crazy about him. Then Aphrodite brought her to life. Icarus spotted a chance and took his pots and my hydra over and brought them to life too. The girl blinked and stepped off the stool. She was even more perfect. Her hair was a deep brown with blonde highlights and the kitan was a light purple. If Aphrodite wasn't a blonde with the curviest of curves and the tightest of kitans, this girl could have been her twin. And this girl had tan skin. I was so pale, I was almost white. Aphrodite brought the girl over to Hercules and introduced her as Gallatea. Even her name her name was perfect. At first , both of them were shy. Then Gallatea, jumped on Hercules and hugged him. Icarus claimed her to be a keeper. I ran outside and tried to sob. My little Hydra came over and nuzzled me. At least some guy liked me. Aphrodite came outside and sat next to me.
"I sense Hercules wasn't the only one who needed help." She told me. I smiled a watery smile.
"Do you think you could help me get a date too?" I asked. "Not with clay, but with a real guy? Even though that guy has a date already?"
"Of course I can!" She said. "All you need to do, is show that guy that his date, isn't for him. That you are the one. If he can't see it, you gotta make him see it." She told, me giving a squeeze. I hugged her back and thanked her. Then she had to go. There was another call for her up in Sparta. The next day, Herucles and Gallatea seemed to be the power couple rather than Adonis and Helen. For once, everyone was whispering about someone else being too skinny or having to long hair. All I could hear was.
"Who's that girl?"
"How does she stay that fit?"
Whys she with that loser?"
"Could she have worn a tighter kitan?" Hercules was loving it. I leaned against my locker and watched as he ad Gallatea walked by together and sighed. I wanted to be that girl wrapped around his arm, not her. Then Adonis came up and chuckled.
"So who's your date to the dance Silenia?" He asked me.
"Nobody." I told him. "I'm going stag."
"Oh pooh. Too bad Helen is my queen, other wise you could be my date." He told me. He was so sure that he and Helen were going to be the Aphrodesian Dance King and Queen. Then he walked away. I turned to head for class, when I bumped into someone and fell over. I looked and saw that it was a boy. A cute boy. He had medium sized brown hair, blue eyes, and a light blue kitan. And muscles. Really big muscles. Hercules had sticks for arms compared to this guy.
"Oh my goodness!" He said in accent that could make any girl fall was over heels. And that any girl, was me. "Are you alright? My name is, uh, er, Polometheus." Polometheus. Such a perfect name for such a cute boy.
"I'm Silenia." I told him. He smiled, such a handsome smile.
"My. May I say that you are a lovely woman." He told me.
"You're not so bad yourself. " I told him. Then we walked away, I wrapped around his and and hanging onto every word.
Hercules' POV
I could see Silenia looking disappointed as I walked by with Gallatea. I couldn't see why she was so upset. I finally had the perfect girl. Then I realised, she didn't have a date. I wondered if I should have asked her. She was pretty. And smart and kind and funny. But Gallatea was, well, crazy about me. Then I watched as Silenia walked a way with some guy. She looked at him the same way as Gallatea looked at me. Oh well. At least she was happy. But I couldn't get over why I felt so jealous
