My fingers itched, to hit him. He was talking to her. That would make me more monster than I already was.
A massive ache pierced my heart, watching them in class. Talk like distant lovers, the look on her face...
Content?
I can't do this; I slammed my desk violently, getting the teacher's attention.I felt her stare, and my breath returned; I've never felt so foolish in my life.
What am I doing?
"Is there a problem, Vonn?" My usual response would be silence with a cold stare at the crowd. But instead,"I don't get the use of this assignment at all, could you explain?" I raised a questioning brow at the shock on all their faces.
What was so shocking?
I ran my fingers through my hair, to rain in my wreck of emotions.I glared at them, what the fuck are they looking at?
They all looked away, and Mr. Arnold gathered to speak, "Mr. Vonn, I needed everyone's perspective on this, so that is why you'll be working on chapter 20 of the textbook."
"I'm open for personal consultation if you need any assistance."
"That won't be needed, thank you."
They gasped and Chase knocked my foot.He mouthed, you okay bro?
Perfect, I replied. My gaze fell on her seat; she buried her head in her arms.Soon I was in the cafeteria, reading through my written notes.
"That Burger's getting cold? What's wrong with you?" Ronnie asked frustrated.
I pushed the chips into my mouth, "Happy?"
"Yes,"
I noticed Malcolm's absence; Jason focused on his phone, and Chase and Jake were all about just eating. Alex sat with Carl, she was nowhere in sight. I was eternally grateful.
"You guys know about the investigation about... you know what"
Jason asked, focusing his attention on the table; I couldn't care less about the topic.Ronnie squinted his eyes in confusion, "About what now?"
Jake sighed, "What rock do you live under, Ronn? Haven't you been paying attention? He's talking about Katie's assault."
"Oh"
"Obviously, under Ashley," Malcolm approached, taking the seat beside them. He smirked.
Ronnie, "Don't you have anything better to do?"
"Nope!" He smiled and we focused on him. He didn't bother to hide to hide it.
"What are you laughing about?" Ronnie questioned. For one, I expected a serious mood when he got back, but not this.
"Nothing" he stated and cleared his throat.
Must have worked out with the brunette or something?
We exchanged glances of understanding and shook hands, simply meaning, thanks.
"I believed they called in Bruno earlier today"
"Bruno?" Chase asked. His gaze eyed me in worry.
"The Guy in eleventh grade says he was there or something, I don't know," Jason explained as he gazed focused behind me.
"There's gonna be a lot of trouble around here, dudes; plus, why do I get the feeling you don't care, Bellamy."
I looked up from my notes, "Should I care?" I was met with silence and Malcolm broke it with a sigh.
