Emerald knew this was a dream. She was in her world in the past life. The aristocratic and elegant design of buildings and houses is nowhere to be seen. Oh, how she missed this modern contemporary atmosphere.

She walked past the busy and noisy people. This is the fast-paced world she used to live in. Then in a faraway distance, she saw a familiar face.

She felt the tears on her cheeks suddenly. Her daughter is there. She was now all grown up. She was there wearing corporate attire and checking her watch. She was living a normal life. She follows her daughter silently. She was always curious about how she looked like when she grew up and now she was there. So close to her. She just knew it was her.

Bea died before Emerald turned fifteen so she never got the chance to see her grow up. She tried hugging her figure but she just went past through her.

"I miss you, my daughter," she said

She watched as her daughter work throughout the day.

"Oh so you like your coffee not so warm and sweet." She would often comment on the little things that she does

"You're quite organize! You were just like me."

"Those girls that were talking behind your back are  so annoying. They were just jealous freaks."

Then the scenery changes. She was now at a house. The place is a bit unfamiliar. She was surprised when a little boy suddenly came running.

"I don't want to take a bath!" the little boy shouted

Then she saw her daughter holding a slipper on her hand.

"You'll get this one if you don't come here!" she said annoyed

"Iiiiih." the boy just replied

"I'll handle this, honey. Go and rest." a gentle man told her daughter and get the slipper out of her hand

"Come here, son. Stop making your mom angry." he said

"Don't spoil him!" her daughter warned her husband.

Emerald cried. Her daughter made a wonderful family. She was a very caring husband and a little mischievous rascal of a son.

Her little grandson is so cute. How she wished she lived longer so she can hold him.

The scenery changed once again. She was in a school. A lot of students are wearing a graduation toga. And her daughter was there. On the stage giving her valedictorian speech.

"To my mother who passed away. Your hard work and legacy is here standing in front of this crowd. All of this is for you. I wish you can see me right now. I hope I made you proud." she said with a big smile on her face

You did honey.  You made me so proud.

It was just three scenarios but she can tell that her daughter live a meaningful life. She was so proud of the person that she become. She ran to hug her daughter on the stage even though she knew she cannot touch her. But she still did it anyway.

"I love you so much." she said

Her daughter dedicated the speech to her but she knew she was not the best mother. As Bea, she was too focus on making Gab love her that she often neglected her child. How she wish she paid more attention to her. How she wished she could redo being a mother.

"I'm sorry for being a bad mother." she said

"You're not."

Emerald looked at the direction of the voice. A little kid of five years old was staring and smiling at her. Tears flowed  even more. She ran to hold the child and surprised that she can actually touch her.

"Alleah! My daughter!" she said hugging her tightly

They stayed like that for a while.

"How are you? I'm so so proud of you." she said

"I know." Alleah said as she held her hand

"Mom, can you grant me my wish."

"Anything baby."

"Please be happy. Don't worry about me or father. Please be happy on your own. You deserve someone who will cherish you and made your dreams came true."

"Don't say that. I am happy when we were together."

"You're not. You often cry in secret and always insecure. You were not a bad mother. You never were. You did your best as a wife and a mother. You did a great job. Now it's time for you to think for yourself." she said still smiling

"But I want to be with you." Emerald said

"I am always with you, mother." she said

Little by little Alleah grew to become an adult  in Emerald's embrace.

"You already gave me the gift of life that made me experience a lot of things. because of you I met my loving husband and had a cute little kid. You were always a part of me just like I am a part of you. You were a great person Mom. and Dad don't deserve you. Please leave the past alone now and move forward." she said

Emerald just kept on crying while staring at her cupping her face gently.

"Please promise me." Alleah said

Emerald nod.

"I'm happy, you are my mother." she said as she slowly fades away

Emerald felt in her fingertips how she faded slowly, then disappeared. She kept on crying for a while  and saw a letter.

She picked it up and opened it. It was a letter written by a five year old kid using crayons.

It says:

Dear Papa Jesus,

Please if there was a next life, don't make my mommy marry daddy. She deserves to be happy. I love daddy but he kept on hurting mommy. Mommy was always crying and I hate to see her cry. It's okay if I'm not here, just make her happy because she deserves the world just like how she tries to give me the world.

Love,

Alleah

Really, I'm a failure as a mother. Forcing my child to feel this way. But thank you Alleah. Goodbye.

Emerald opened her eyes with her pillows wet from her tears.

"Satisfied?" Ian asked

"Not really." Alleah said

"Huh?!"

"It's just a shame I won't be able to meet my stepfather." She said

"You're asking for too much." he said

"I know." She said "See you later Ian. I'll go now meet my husband and son." she said

Ian stretched his arms.

"I worked very hard tonight. I deserve a break." he said then someone slammed his door

"Warlock please help me heal  my friend!" shouted the guy outside

"f*ck!"
