Kindern was a unique man. He had that charisma of a devil that almost all mafia bosses carried. His calm demeanour pierced even the toughest of men. Don't believe me? I saw it meself.

As you stared into that gaze of his, you would have felt his presence overwhelming you. In an instant, you understood that this is a man of intellect. Someone you do not want to mess with. And for good reason. There was a saying I recall, "Beware of an old man in a profession where men usually die young."

And Kindern, is a perfect example of this.

From afar, you would think that this man is in his prime years, combine that with his habit of eating lollipops and you would have thought that Kindern was a 30-40 year old man.
And that's the brilliance of it. This man knew how to perfectly manipulate his image. He always kept his hair tidy, wore slim fit two piece suits and a tie everywhere he went, and as it seems, his broad shoulders and perfect physique indicated that he works out on a daily basis.

His true name and age? Carlos Rodriguez. Born in Hamburg, Germany, to Spanish immigrant parents, he ran away at a young age and somehow found himself on a cargo ship leaving the port of France. Young Carlos was somehow caught amidst a mutiny, the ship? Turned to piracy. He was discovered starving, hidden below decks by the new crew. He spent at least ten years living among the crew members of that hijacked ship, which gradually became a floating pirate nation.
One day, the ship made landfall in Batavie, seeing the promise of a new land, he set out to 'help' the locals, keeping in contact with his old mates from his days at sea, he was among the first members to be recruited into the Brigantines, with his connection to smugglers, he quickly jumped to the rank of 'captain' of their smuggling operations. As time passed and leadership changed, he would be the only man left standing from the first breath of the Brigantines, fearing a rebellion from within his branch, he set up connections with other old members, most of whom would get discovered pretty quickly and silenced.
Yet it would appear that our operation was the key for his exit. But word has spread and now every crime boss in the city is looking for him.
Although in the span of time where he thought of retiring, he did meet the underboss several times, discussing the state of his operations. These conversation would be retrieved from the electronic devices which Hex was able to unveil and decipher quite a lot of information, for example, there is a cctv feed that connected directly to Kindern's Lounge in the upper floor, the video feed was erased, but the idiot behind the wheels somehow didn't scrub it clean enough, allowing Hex to piece together what remains of a sparse audio data.

The records we gathered are sufficient enough to corner Kindern. Now our goal is to have his cooperation –which we already had– to take down one of the big three that ruled the Brigantines.

Start from the smaller fishes.

Cellian Callahan, Silver Lady of the Brigantines. The Vampire of Braga.
We suspected that she's the Consigliere, the Consultant, the Advisor of the Brigantines. Sure the fastest way to rid of these mongrels is to go for the head, but considering the evidence we have at hand, and the fact that the only other significant voice we can hear from the recording is of someone we suspected to be Cellian, that is our best option for now.

The court date is coming quickly, and with that, so too did the security around Café das Piloten tightens, many Glacier personnel were sighted patrolling the area alongside local police who kept guard day in or day out. And with the tightening of security, so too comes peaceful days for us who have been locked up in this Café with Carlos –or Kindern whichever name you prefer. We were finally allowed to return to our homes and rest at night, then return the next morning to help with the preparations. Rafael and Hex went home since their services were no longer necessary, the rest stayed around volunteering as guards.
These last few days, I can say, are the busiest. Not for us, but for the other teams assigned to label and categorise the documents necessary for the proceedings.
