"I can not belive you actually agreed to this. Have you gone mad" Julianna hears her older brother Larys voice as she makes her way to her father's chambers. She hesitantly knocks on the door getting a 'come in' from her father. Julianna slowly walks in looking at the stressed face of her father and the angered look on her brother's face.
"Father. Brother." Julianna says smiling at them. "You wished to see me." She says towards her father who let out a shaky breath with guilt filling his eyes worrying her. "Yes. Larys leave me and your sister." Lyonel tells his son who grips his cane so hard his knuckles begin to turn white. "Very well." Larys says limping towards the door. "I will see you later." He says as he places a kiss on Julianna's forehead before leaving the room.
"Julie please sit. I must speak to you about something very important." Lyonel says pulling out a chair for his daughter.
"Is everything all right Father?" Julianna asks sitting down and giving her father a worried look. "Larys seemed angry." She continues.
"I love you. And everything I do is for you and your siblings to have a good life. You know that right." Lyonel stresses holding Julianna's hands.
"Your scaring me." Julianna says looking at her father worriedly.
"I need you to understand that what I'm going to tell you is for your own good." Lyonel says looking into his daughters eyes. Julianna shakes her head unsure of what to say.
"Lord Otto Hightower has come to me with a proposition." Lyonel begins. "As you know he has lost his wife a bit ago. He has come to me with thoughts of marrying again." Julianna begins to move around in her seat very uncomfortable with this whole situation. "He has come to me in hopes of marrying you. And I agreed." With those words Julianna stands up in rage.
"You Jest, Father. You can not be serious marrying me off to a man your age who already has two children both whom are older then I am." Julianna yells.
"I do not Jest about this Julianna. It is a generous proposition. We would aline ourselves with House Hightower. And be in the good graces with the hand of the King." Lyonel says also standing up.
"I will not marry him. I refuse." Julianna says. "You do not have the right to refuse this. I have already made the decision." Lyonel yells causing Julianna to flinch backwards.
"You will have me give up my freedom. To marry a man your age and birth his children." Julianna says slightly above a whisper.
"We all must sacrifice freedom for duty at some point in your life." Lyonel says walking to his daughter and caressing her face. "You more then other." He says causing her to look up at him with unspilled tears in her eyes.
"Why?" She says quietly.
"Cause you were born a woman. And due to that you have a duty to marry and have kids. The thought of freedom is something you must let go of. You will marry Otto Hightower in 3 moon's time. Do you understand." Lyonel asks tilting his daughters head up to look at him.
"I understand father." Julianna says. Lyonel smiles at his daughter kissing the top of her head. "Good. You may go now. I have to attend a meeting." Julianna nods before leaving her fathers grasps and heading out of the room.
As soon as Julianna left the room the tears she had been keeping in fell as she ran down the corridor. Coming to a room and slamming the door open.
"JULi-anna?" Harwin began to yell till he saw the state his little sister was. "What wrong. Did something happen- oof." Harwin caught her as Julianna launched her self onto Harwin. Harwins heart broke a little when he heard her sobs as he held her tight holding her as she let out her emotions.
