As weeks passed things changed around Kings Landing. Rhaenyra was named heir and Deamon Targaryen was banished.
Julianna continued to visit Gwayne Hightower during his recovery. First at the request of Alicent in her place. Then at the request of Gwayne as he grew to enjoy her company. When she would visit him they would talk about some of the most random things. Julianna would tell about everything going around in the Red Keep and about Harrenhal where she grew up till she came with her father to Kings Landing. Gwayne in turn would talk about Oldtown speaking of its beauty. He would also speak a bit about his childhood.
"It's mostly built of stone. Once my and a fellow night were walking across a bridge the day after rainfall and he slipped and landed into the water below." Gwayne tells Julianna laughing at the memory. Julianna can't help but laugh at the scene that she imagined. Once she stopped laughing she looked at him. Really looked at him. She noticed the way his crystal blue eyes reflected the light.
"You're eyes are very blue." She says without thinking causing him to look at her in amusement. "Really?" He asks easily causing her cheeks to turn red. "I-I mean they're very beautiful. Alicent nor your father have blue eyes and." She stutters a response causing him to chuckle. "My mother had blue eyes. I get them from her." He says smiling at the embarrassed girl. Julianna nodded looking at him with a smile.
"You also have very beautiful eyes." Gwayne says staring into Julianna's eyes. Julianna lets out a nervous laugh. "You're making fun of me." She says. "No. No. I would be a fool to make fun of you." Gwayne reassures as the two continue to stare into each other eyes. They were snapped out of it when the door swung wide open. Alicent Hightower walks through the door surprised to see her friend sitting by her brother.
" Alicent." Gwayne says clearing his throat. "Brother. Julie." Alicent nods to the two of them as she walks deeper into the room. "I was just about to leave. I will see you another time Ser Gwayne. See you later Alicent." Julianna says getting up to leave the room.
Before Julianna was fully out of the room Alicent called out to her. "Your father has been looking for you. He says there's something important he must speak to you about." Julianna nods before bidding goodbye once more and going off to find her father.
