She felt nothing. She felt numb from the day.
Luke. Her pearl. Her dear darling nephew was dead. And her own kin did it. And no one seemed to care.
Daella dragged her feet as she stumbled up the stone steps, nobles glanced at her nervously as she stared straight ahead with tear stains.
Eyes followed her as she climbed several staircases till she reached it.
Maegor's holdfast. Aegon's new room.
She pushed open the door with a grunt and walked in. She held on to the door as she looked for the infamous window. And there it was. Behind her father's sculpt of King's Landing. She slowly walked towards it, grasping the sculpt to keep herself up.
She wondered if she'd do it.
Should I? Is this what Luke would want? I can't think about that. I wish to join him. Comfort him in the afterlife as she would in the real world.
All these thoughts ran through her head as she debated on leaving this world or running back into her mother's arms.
No.
She clambered up onto the the sill of the massive window and looked down...at the spikes.
What was she doing? No one had ever jumped...she would be the first. She'd be remembered by the history's and bards as the princess who couldn't handle her nephews death and left the sad pathetic world and gave up on everything she worked for. Pathetic.
"Shut the fuck up!" she screamed as she gripped her hair tightly, feeling strands being pulled out.
She walked closer to the edge till she was teetering.
"I'm sorry..." she whispered.
And she jumped. It felt like time went slow as she plummeted to her death. She could be with Luke and get away from her disgusting, horrible life. She could care for her nephew like she always did...like nothing changed. She could be in a place where titles don't exist. It wouldn't matter if you were a bastard or not. It wouldn't matter if you were a Velaryon or a stupid fucking Targaryen. It won't matter. She'd be free.
A hand grabbed her lower arm and held tightly as she bashed into the stone wall. The person grabbed her bicep with their upper arm and started to drag her back into the castle.
"No! Let me go!" Daella screamed and thrashed. The person grabbed under her arm pits and hauled her into the room and onto the floor.
"No! Stop! I don't wish to be here!" Daella ripped her throat raw as she screamed, trying to leave the person's arms.
"Shh. Shh." the person hushed and stroked her hair. She glanced behind her and Aegon stared at her with tears leaving his eyes.
"No! No! You cunt! Why did you stop me?!" Daella yelled, pushing herself away from her brother and stumbling to her feet and backed away.
"No. You can't leave...not yet. You can't leave me. Do you think this would fix all of your problems...giving up! Luke wouldn't forgive you." Aegon raised his voice slightly and walked closer, trying to stop her from running.
"No! Do not bring Luke into this!" she glared at the blonde.
"But it's the truth!" he raised his voice louder at the defiant girl.
"Do not speak his name! You have no right to even think about him! Not after everything you have done! You fucking usurper!" Daella sprinted from the room while holding her skirts as she twisted through the many halls, trying to find one of the many passages Maegor designed.
Aegon ran after her and saw how far she was down the hallway she was compared to him. He turned a corner and saw she was getting slowed by lady's of the court. She tried to push past them as they coddled and ran further but Aegon grasped her waist, hauling her back into him and holding her close. She slammed her heel down onto his foot and he let go on impact. She ran as fast as she could towards her chambers.
She pushed past many people but got stopped by Rodrik.
"Daella?"
"Run. Run as fast as you can. Protect your family because he'll kill you." she spoke frantically as she grasped his upper arms.
"Who? Daella you're not making sense." he shook his head.
"Aegon! It's Aegon. He'll kill you. Run I beg of you. Run!" she shouted and rushed towards her chambers.
She reached the wooden doors and could here Aegon getting closer because of his shouting at everyone in his way. Then she had a stupid plan.
Daella hid behind a tapestry of Rhaenys Targaryen with her dragon Meraxes. Aegon's footsteps drew closer and he passed the fabric and opened the door into his sister's chamber. She could hear him rummaging through the room, pushing objects off tables in anger, checking every possible passageway in her rooms. Once he realised she wasn't in there he ran out of the room and back down the hallway.
As Daella snuck into her room, Aegon heard her shoes hit the floor and turned to see her light blue dress swish through the wooden doors. He ran back down the hallway and searched for his angel.
"Come back Daella!" he yelled in frustration but also sadness.
He glanced towards a tapestry of Queen Alysanne and her daughter Daella Targaryen, the fabric looked recently shifted and he swiftly went to it. He moved the fabric and saw a glimpse of gold in the light running down the passage. He sprinted towards his sister and chased her till he reached the other side of the passage where it opened to the streets.
He ran down the stairs and ran after the girl as quickly as possible. He and Daella ran into several people who tried to talk to the royals. He made it to the centre where the usual dances commenced and he saw Daella get swept up with the excited commonfolk. Then he got grabbed and dragged into the festivities.
The commonfolk around them saw the two siblings and pushed them to the centre like they did all of those years ago. Aegon caught Daella by the waist as she struggled in his grip.
"Please my love." he pleaded but she ignored him and continued to struggle.
Tara walked out of her tavern and saw her close friend fighting in the King's grip in desperation. Tara grabbed a drink out of a man's hand and stalked towards the two. She faked a stumble and tipped the alcohol over Aegon.
Aegon let go to get the liquid out of his eyes and Daella grabbed her friends arm.
"Thank you." Daella quickly whispered in her friends ear then continued to sprint through the streets. She ran up the steps to the Dragon keep but was blocked by two of the white cloaks.
"Princess. It's very late, you should be in the castle with the King to be safe." The taller one reached for her arm.
"No it's alright, Ser Ryle, the King and I decided to have a fun race towards the Dragon Keep and fly towards a hill we used to visit as children. As you can see, he's very far behind. Thank you good Sers." Daella charmed and slunk her way through the two men into the open pit.
She ran down the steps towards the certain cave where Hyrne resided. She slipped her way past the dead carcases and made it to her boy. She stroked his scales then quickly climbed onto his back and onto the saddle.
"sōvēs Hyrne." she commanded and Hyrne flew through an opening in the caves.
"No!" she glanced back to see her brother scream for her as he fell to his knees and watched her fly off into the early morning.
