Now that Bruce Wayne made it back from the mission with the Justice League, he and Barbara both head to the batcave to talk in private.
"I ran into your father the other day, he told me about the party you and Virgil went to at the Falcone's." Bruce trying to get the story together. "Then I have to find out that you got poisoned by Scarecrow last week. You two should be very lucky to be alive right now. Why couldn't I just go without hearing from you being in danger all the time?" He crossed his arms while looking at Barbara.
"Bruce, I don't need your help! I told you over seven times already that I know how dangerous it can be in Gotham! The criminals, the psychopath beings and killers out there." Barbara looks into Bruce's eyes as she's fed up with him treating her like a kid.
"Barbara, you have to understand that when it comes to watching you, I don't want anything else bad things happen to you again. And bringing Virgil, that's another thing when it comes to being responsible. You're still young and the last thing I need is to tell a police commissioner that not only he lost his daughter, but she's also Batgirl." Bruce wants Barbara to do better and make better choices.
"I'm not a little girl anymore, Bruce. Because, what you do is you letting everything go things your way and expect everything to be done your own way! My god, where were you when I almost died after being shot by Joker?!" She starts to get teared up, breaking down when she mentions Joker.
Bruce still remembers the night, still feeling so guilty about it. Because, all he wants to be more responsible is to keep her safe and he thinks he fails to do that.
"Barbara... We both know that I tried to save you. I tried so hard..." He looks down when he sees Barbara cry.
"I was alone, Bruce... Bleeding out. I was dying... God knows how my dad will react to find out I was Batgirl." Her voice breaks when she watches Bruce looking down. "Virgil was losing a part of himself that night. He wouldn't let me die." She takes off her glasses when she tries to wipe her tears away.
Virgil was standing outside of the door, overhearing Barbara and Bruce's conversation.
"At least he was there to take me to the hospital while you're out there chasing Joker like he's more important to you than me." Barbara walks off to head back to his room.
"I was filled with rage... I was too busy trying to stop him before he would hurt everyone else. But being more important to go after him than being more important to saving you... That is not true. You're still important to me, Barbara. I just..." He was trying to get the words out, but couldn't as he was blaming himself. "I just don't wanna lose you." He couldn't help, but to fight his tears.
