"Ooohhhhh I'm so excited!" Ink squealed as they walked into the mall. "I know right! But remember Ink, we are here for dresses." Blue said sternly. "Ugh I know I know." Ink sighed. "I'm worried that Dust will be overwhelmed taking care of three kids." Red muttered. "Oh he'll be fine. He's handled much worse." Ink reassured him. "Come on Red. Let's focus on the task at hand. Don't worry about Dust, he'll be fine." Blue said. Red took a deep breath. He'll be okay. He literally used to work for Nightmare. He'll be okay. "He's not like you. Doesn't try to kill himself for no damn reason." Rare grumbled. Red sighed and rolled his eyes. " You good?" Blue asked. "Yeah. Rare's just being annoying." Red told him. Blue scoffed out a laugh. "Of course he's being annoying. He's the literal opposite of you." Blue said before walking ahead to catch up with Ink. Red's wings perked up. He doesn't think I'm annoying. Red ran over to Ink and Blue, his worries about Dust completely forgotten.
"Sooooo I was thinking about getting a white glittery dress that fades to rainbow." Ink said as he looked at a few of the dresses. "Oh and it has to fit me. I'm quite skinny, but I'm also tall so that could be an issue." Ink added. "We can always adjust it to your tastes." Red reminded him, and Blue nodded in agreement. "Yeah I know." Ink sighed. "I just want it to be perfect." Ink sat down next to the pile of dresses he looked at. Red sat down next to him. "And it will be perfect. We'll find you a beautiful dress, we'll find Fresh, and we'll get you and Error onto that alter to say 'I do'." Red assured him. Ink smiled. "You always know how to make me feel better." Ink started sifting through the pile of dresses once more. "Once we pick out a dress, we can head over to the food court." Blue suggest. "Oh yeah! I'm totally down for some grub soon." Ink said, and Red nodded in agreement. "I definitely smelled something good as we were heading this way." Red added.
After about 20 minutes, Ink stood up from the pile of dresses. "I want to try on this one!" Ink exclaimed and ran to the dressing room before Red and Blue could get a good look at the dress. They both waited outside the dressing room for Ink. Just as they were getting impatient, Ink strode out of the dressing room. The dress was glittery white, almost looking like sun-kissed snow. The dress had a long trail that they could easily dye. And the dress was also quite form fitting, showing off every curve of Ink's ribcage and making his hips look wider than before. Ink did a little spin to show off all sides. It was gorgeous from every angle, and the best part was that even though the dress was long sleeved, a lot of Ink's tattoos were visible. Blue whistled and Red pretended to blush. "So what do you think?" Ink asked. Red could hear the smile in his voice. "It's perfect." Red told him. "It's like it was made just for you." Blue added. Ink squealed in delight, and Red couldn't help but join in. Soon all three of them were screeching like teenage girls.
Red paid for the dress (using Dream's money of course), and they left the dress store. "So where's the food court at?" Ink asked. "It's back near the entrance." Red answered and started leading Ink and Blue to the food court. Red loved all the smells. And he still had a lot of Dream's money left over from buying the dress, so he'd be happy to taste test everything here. "Oh my stars it smells amazing! It's been a long time since I've been in a mall." Blue said as he started to look around at all the different food shops. "Here." Red pulled out the money that Dream had given him and gave some of it to Ink and Blue so they could go get some food. "Let's meet up outside once we get our food, okay?" Red asked. "Okay." Ink and Blue both said in agreement. Red watched Ink and Blue go, then he started wandering around the food court in search of what he wanted to eat. He wanted to eat all of it, but he knew Killer would start calling him a fatass again if he gained anymore weight. So he made himself look for one place to get food from. It was really hard though. Everything looked and smelled so good. But he needed to control himself. Eventually he found a place that looked nice. It was a little place that looked mostly run by monsters. That wasn't something very common in surface AUs, but it was good to see. Red look a look at the menu. Stars he wanted to try all of it. But in the end he settled for a burger, potato wedges, fries, chicken strips, and deep fried pickles. He ordered his food and gave a generous tip. He left the mall and met up with Ink and Blue outside.
"What took so long?" Blue asked. "I had a hard time deciding what I wanted." Red admitted. All three of them had a good laugh. Red sat down next to Ink and Blue. The grass wasn't damp like it was this morning when they arrived. It was soft and warm now. "Ink went straight for the candy shop." Blue teased, playfully poking Ink on the shoulder. "Of course he did. Ink has such a sweet tooth." Red playfully rolled his eyes and pretended to scoff. Ink started laughing, and almost started choking on his cotton candy. Red started laughing too, and soon Blue did as well. This felt nice. Not just the food, but being able to hang out and laugh with his friends like he used to. He missed this feeling. He hoped it lasted a while.
