MK was training with Wukong somewhere in Flower Fruit Mountain. Wukong was dodging MK's attacks, but his expression still remained serious and stoic. These escapades lasted a little longer, then Wukong wrapped his tail around MK's leg and threw him into the Flower Fruit Mountain. Then the monkey landed next to him and made him sit on the ground, twirling it like a staff.

Wukong: "Better. Way, way better. You're totally getting the hang of this, I guess."

MK looked at his mentor with hopeful and shining eyes.

MK: "Aw really?"

Wukong nodded in agreement and waved his arms.

Wukong: "I mean, it does make sense. You are getting trained by me. Now, we just gotta work on your focus."

When MK heard this, he immediately got excited and moved.

MK: "Yeah, I am the best of focus— What do you mean, "work on my focus?!" I-I'm like No. 1 Focus Guy!"

Wukong pushed the boy away from him and looked at him sideways.

Wukong: "Ugh, if anyone is No. 1 Focus Guy, it's me."

MK: "What?!" MK screamed in disbelief and then took out his book from his jacket and started flipping through it.

He knocked over Wukong's cardboard mannequin as he grumbled, but Wukong continued to glare annoyedly at his successor as he sat on his cloud, still wielding his arms.

MK: “Literally, your entire legacy is about you being impulsive and dodging responsibilities!"

Wukong: "That's where you're wrong."

MK: "When you tried steal the immortal peaches in the Celestial Realm?"

Wukong: "I didn't know they were immortal and they looked delicious."

Wukong answered this in a slight monotone, but MK didn't seem to notice.

MK: “When you try to avoid the journey?”

Wukong: "I made a forced journey."

MK: "When you fight with—"

Wukong stuffs the ginger cookies in the boy's mouth.

MK's eyes sparkled slightly as he ate the cookie hungrily, but then he turned to his mentor in exasperation.

Wukong: "See, that right there is the problem. You stressed too much about the negatives. Focus is taking in everything, but honing in only on the one thing that matters. Right now, I'm talking to you while also honing in the speed of the wind, the moisture in the air, these 37 emails for my lawyer, the first 18 seasons of Monkey King: The Animated Series. And what storms were going on inside me, no matter how calm I looked on the outside. And that bug over there."

He takes the child in one arm, makes him stand up, shows him around and continues talking.

Wukong: "But... I'm paying attention to you. Take in everything, choose what you want to do, and then do it. That is focus."

MK looked at his mentor with shining eyes, but he didn't really understand anything.

MK: “It sounds… super confusing and like you're just constantly distracted.”

Wukong raised his eyebrows and rolled his eyes, still looking stoically at his successor.

Wukong: “Or maybe you just can't handle real focus?”

MK staggered dramatically when he sensed he was being interrupted, but then frowned stubbornly.

He would prove it to him.
