Chapter 4 "First Name"

The next morning I had realized that Izumi was already gone, so I called her. Good morning Mitsuki, what's up? Good morning Izumi, where are you? I already left for work, you can make breakfast yourself right Mitsuki? I can do that much, so um, what time will you be home then? I'll be home late, so if I'm not home when you get there today, you can start dinner yourself okay?  Okay, I'll see you later then, bye. Then I hung up the phone. "I wonder why Izumi left so early." I told myself, then got ready for school and left. When I got to the front gate of the school I saw Haruki. He's alone? I wonder why. I said in my head. Then walked up to him, "hi good morning Haruki!" He looked at me. "Good morning, calling me my first name I see." Haruki said with a smile. "Well, that's because, because your brother is in my class. And I don't want to get you two mixed up." I answered back. "Hmm okay, so Yoshida, can I call you Mitsuki then?" Shoot I shouldn't have called him Haruki! I said in my head. "Uh yeah, if you really want to." I said in a hesitant voice. "Okay Mitsuki, I'm going to class, see you later!" Haruki told me as he walked away. After that Kimura snuck behind me, "hey Yoshida, good morning! Is that your boyfriend?" She asked me. I blushed then said, "it's not like that his brother is in my class, so I called him his first name then he called me my first name too." Then Kimura asked me "well then, can I call you your first name too?" Not you too. I said in my head, "well if you really want to, go ahead." I said with a sigh. "Okay Mitsuki." Kimura said then laughed a little. "Well Akane, let's get to class before the first bell." I said in a sly manner. She then smiled at me before leaving to class. Really, I shouldn't have done that. "Well it can't be helped, now time to try be apart of the student council." I told myself while walking to class. Hello students. Good morning. "An announcement?" One of the students said. "Be quiet, we better listen to this." Sensei told us. There will be an emergency assembly this morning, I hope to see all students, please meet in the assembly hall within 10 minutes, thank you." "Well class, looks like we have an assembly to get to, now if you please go straight to the assembly hall." Sensei told us. Saya then walked up to me. "Hey Yoshida, good morning." She said to me. "Oh hey, good morning Saya." I said back. "I was wondering, do you want to sit with me during the assembly?" Saya asked. "Me? Yeah sure, that sounds good." I told Saya. "Okay, well I'll see you there, I need to use the restroom so save me a seat?" She asked me. "Yes I'll save you a seat." I said to Saya, then walked to the assembly hall. Maybe, I can become apart of the student council now? I said in my head, I was almost at the hall, when I bumped into someone. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't see you there." I said. "Oh Mitsuki." I heard a voice say, "huh, oh it's Haruki." I replied. "Are you interested in joining the student council?" He asked me. "Umm well, I guess you could say that, yeah I am. How about you Haruki? I asked him. "I don't really know. In my last school I was part of the student council, it was okay, but i probably won't join here." He said with a weird tone in his voice. "Haruki, I want to ask you a question." I told him, "go ahead, ask me anything." "Okay." I then asked, "have you and your brother moved around a lot?" He looked at me a little confused, and a little surprised. "I'm sorry, did I say something wrong?" I asked Haruki. "No it's okay. But, how did you know?" He asked me. "Well I noticed, your brother was a little different during the introductions yesterday." I told Haruki, he looked at me confused. "Yoshida!!" We both turned around. "Oh hey Saya, let's go in then." I said to her. "So who was that?" Saya asked in a teasing tone. "He's not my boyfriend." I replied. "Oh, then, who is he?" She asked in a confused voice. "I met him on the roof yesterday. And I guess he's my friend." I said to Saya. "And you guys just call each other by the first name?" She asked me. "It's complicated." I replied. "Why can't I call you Mitsuki?" Saya asked me. "Sigh, I mean you can, if you want to." I told her. "Yay, hey Mitsuki, Mitsuki, Mitsuki." She said in different voices. "Okay Saya, that's enough." I replied. "Hey you can call me Furukawa, you know?" She asked me. "Fine Furukawa, I think we should sit over there." I said, and she smiled. As we sat down, the student council president started making an announcement. "Hello students, my name is Hayato Mei, I am the student council president. And we, the student council, are looking for new members. So if anyone is interested, please raise your hand." The president said. "Im going to raise my hand Furukawa." I whispered to her. "Okay, and stand up." She replied. Then I raised my hand. "I'm interested." I said as I stood up. "Good anyone else? No one? Okay, if you would please come up here." The president said to me. As I walked up there I saw Akane, looking at me. I smiled at her, and she smiled back. "Okay, what is your name, and grade?" The president asked me. "I am Yoshida Mitsuki, and I'm a second year." I told everyone. Should I be scared? I said in my head. Okay, If no one else is going to join, please go back to your class everyone. Thank you for your time." The president said. And everyone else went back to class.
