Chapter 7 "A Trip to the Mall"

I hadn't answered Haruki's message for the past three days. It's the weekend now and Furukawa messaged me. She wants to go shopping, and invited me. I mean it sounds fun, but I didn't get an allowance. "Hey, Izumi a friend asked me to go shopping with her, can I get some yen?" I asked my big sister. "I can only give you 3000 yen today." "Okay, I'll tell Furukawa I can go!" I then called Furukawa to tell her I can go. Hey Mitsuki, are you able to come to the mall today? Yeah! My sister gave me permission. Okay I'll meet you at the train station okay? Okay, im getting ready. I then hung up the phone. I don't really want to go to the mall, there's always so much people there. Maybe I should cancel. "No, I have to go, Furukawa asked me. And I'm not going to leave her hanging!" "Mitsuki, when will you be home?" I heard Izumi from a different room. "I don't know, I'll tell you when I'm on my way." I should get a job, I need to make my own money too. I thought to myself. "Okay, be safe. If you eat lunch out tell me." Izumi told me. "Yeah I will, okay bye I'm leaving!" Izumi isn't that much older than me, she's actually only 25 and her birthday is July 15. When I got to the train station, I saw Furukawa waiting for me. "I hope I never make you wait long" I said to her. "Oh no it's fine, I just got here a couple minutes before you." She said to me. I hope she's not lying. I would hate to make her wait, she's so kind to me. "Alright, let's go then." Furukawa said to me. I felt my phone buzz. "Hmm." "Something wrong?" Furukawa asked me. "Oh no, I just got a message." I said with a smile. I pulled my phone out. "When did you get Haruki's number?" Furukawa asked in a teasing way. "Like I said before we're not going out, besides, I'm having a girls day with you." I responded to Furukawa. "Well," she started "aren't you going to answer?" She asked me. "I don't really know." She looked at me."You should reply." She told me. "Okay, fine I'm going to reply."
(Yoshida Mitsuki's phone pov)

Ishoka Haruki
Hey Mitsuki.

Mitsuki, are you ignoring me?

Mitsuki
No, I just didn't have the time to reply. Sorry.

"I doubt that he's going to answer me right away." I told Furukawa. "Don't be like that, oh look it's our stop." "Yeah, let's go then." I said to her, I heard my phone buzz again. "Oh it's Haruki." I said, "see! I told you he would answer." Furukawa said to me in a bright voice.

Oh, that's okay. Anyways, I was going to ask you if you're busy today?

Mitsuki
Yeah, I'm a bit busy today, I'm at the mall with Furukawa.

"He was asking if I was busy today, I wonder why." I told Furukawa. "Maybe he was going to ask you out." She said with a squeal. "Yeah, like that's going to happen." I said back to her. "Come on Mitsuki, you know that could be possible." Furukawa said to me. "So Furukawa, where do you want to check first?" I asked her. "Well there was this place, it had the most amazing food! Wanna check there first?" She asked me. "Yeah lunch sounds good." I felt my phone buzz, yet again.

Yoshida Mitsuki
Yeah, I'm a bit busy today, I'm at the mall with Furukawa.

Haruki
Oh, well. Have fun! I'll see you at school then.

"Ugh, he's just like a dad." I told Furukawa. "That's funny." She said. "No, well yeah, it is kind of funny. There's not as much people here as I thought there would be." I said to Furukawa. "Yeah, I used to come here alone all the time. But now I can come here with you!" She used to come alone? That makes me wonder if she has any friends. "Yeah! I'll come with you here whenever you ask. Okay?" I told her. Furukawa's face lit up as I said that. "Cool, let's come back next week then." She told me. "Sure, that sounds fun." Me and Furukawa went to the "Phone and Accessories" department next. "I was thinking, wanna get matching phone cases?" Furukawa asked me. "Yeah, thats a good idea. By the way, I wanted to ask you something." "Sure, ask anything." She said. "Okay, am I your only friend?" She looked at me confused. "Why'd you ask that?" Furukawa said with a nervous laugh. "Well because. You were the only one in class that came up to me after the introductions. "Well you got me. I'm not exactly 'popular' I used to get bullied when I was in middle school, so when I started as a first year, I didn't have any friends. And now as a second year, you're my only friend Mitsuki." Wait, she's just like me? "Well, I'll never leave your side then." I told her. She smiled then said, "Mitsuki, you're a nice girl you know?" That made me happy to hear. "Mitsuki, we should go now." I was surprised to hear that. "Is there a reason that you want to leave early?" I asked Furukawa. "This is kind of embarrassing. My mom wants me to come home early. She's kind of strict with that." "Oh okay, that's fine. Actually my sister probably wants me home too." We walked out of the mall, and went to the train station. "Bye Mitsuki, today was fun." She waved then left. Yeah, it was fun. I called my sister and told her I'm going home. "I'm home!" I said as I walked in. "Okay, what did you eat lunch yet?" Izumi asked me. "Yeah, I ate with Furukawa, and we got a new phone cases me and Furukawa have matching ones now." She sounds like she wants to say something. "Well, I wanted to introduce you to someone." Izumi told me. "What?"
