The night air grew colder as Aris and Jessa navigated the narrow alleys on the outskirts of Grayvale. The village stood in stark contrast to the opulent Sylvaris, where the Royal Family Valerius ruled with an iron fist, their Rune-bearers' powers a constant reminder of the chasm between the elite and the rune-blind.

"Aris, focus," Jessa whispered, pulling her back from thoughts of the Valerius family—Queen Seraphina's foresight, King Magnus's shadow manipulation, and their children's formidable abilities.

Nodding, Aris tightened her grip on her dagger. They arrived at a dilapidated house, where Jessa slipped inside, her eyes sparkling upon her return. "He's here. The noble we're after. He's alone."

Aris inhaled deeply, steeling herself. They had tracked this noble for weeks, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. This night would deliver a message: the rune-blind were not to be underestimated.

As they entered, the minor lord sat at a table, oblivious to their presence. "Who are you?" he stammered, eyes wide with fear.

"Your worst nightmare," Aris replied, her voice cold as steel. With a swift motion, the blade found its mark, and as the noble gasped, she and Jessa melted back into the shadows, a grim satisfaction swelling within her. The Rune-bearers' reign would soon end.
