The Alpha Echo Team: Book 1: Part 1

Chapter 12

The sun rose on January 5th, and the Alpha Echo Team was getting ready for a new day of calls. The team had just finished breakfast when the alarm went off for the first call of the day.

"Five people trapped in an avalanche on Portbury Mountain" read the computer
"I'll take Flash in my pickup. The rest of you take the chopper." Said Arthur
"Got it." Said the team
"Flash, load-up." Said Arthur
Flash then quickly got into Arthur's pickup. The team then raced to the mountain and got there in 10 minutes.

The people who called in the 5 that were trapped were there, so Arthur went to talk to them.
"Where are the Five that are stuck?" said Arthur
"Around there." Said a friend of the people who were stuck. "They're about halfway up the mountain." The friend added
"Ok. Do you have any piece of clothing that they've worn in the past hour?" Said Arthur
"Yes." said the friend while giving Arthur a piece of clothing
"What are the Five people's names?" Said Arthur
"Denis, Waylon, Joseph, Darren, and Marcelo." Said the friend
"Thanks." Said Arthur

Flash was then released from the pickup, and he sniffed the clothing and started searching for them while Arthur yelled their names.

After a 10 minute search, Flash started barking to signal that he had found them. Arthur then grabbed the foldable shovel out his bag, unfolded it, and started digging the 5 out. After 15 minutes, the 5 were free, and they had early stages of frostbite.

The Alpha Echo team then lowered the harness and backboard, and after 7 minutes, the 5 were in the helicopter and off to the hospital. The 5 only had a couple of broken bones. Arthur then returned to the bottom of the mountain and told the friends that they were off to the hospital.

They then put Flash back in their pickup and went back to the HQ. After an hour, the Alpha Echo Helicopter returned to the HQ and landed just in time for lunch. The team that was in the helicopter got out of uniform and into the mess hall for lunch.

The team had just finished lunch when Arthur's com badge went off.
"We've just been told that we're full of criminals." Said Martinel
"Got it." Said Arthur
"Beam the team up and set a course to the Alpha Echo Homeworld at Warp factor Forty." Said Arthur

The team was then beamed up to the Alpha Echo Enterprise, and they went to the homeworld. After 5 minutes at Warp Factor 40, they got to the Alpha Echo Homeworld.

"Alright, get all the prisoners in a line ready to beam to the homeworld prison." Said Arthur
"Got it." Said the security team

After half an hour, the prisoners were ready for transport. The prisoners were then beamed down to the Alpha Echo Prison and put into cells there. While that was happening, Arthur went to Admiral Monty's office to talk to her.

"Hey, Monty. Long time no see. How are you?" Said Arthur
"I'm good. You?" Said Monty
"I'm good. Just come here to drop prisoners off as the Enterprise was full." Said Arthur
"Ok. Oh, by the way, we're going to be making some new improvements to the suits. The improvements are night vision visors and heat seeking visors." Said Monty
"Ok. Well, when you've finished making them, I can test them for you if you want." Said Arthur
"Thanks. I will notify you when they're done, and you can come and test them." Said Monty
"Ok. Thanks. I'll see you when it's done." said Arthur

The Alpha Echo Team then got beamed back up to the Alpha Echo Enterprise, and they went back to the Earth Space Docks.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, the Alpha Echo Enterprise got surrounded by 20 Yevell Warbirds.
"Well fuck. Red Alert, battle stations." Said Arthur
"Sir, we're being hailed." Said Colin
"On screen." Said Arthur, confused

"Hello, I am Alpha Echo One Captain of the Alpha Echo Enterprise." Said Arthur
"I am Humak, Captain of the IRW Antius." Said Humak
"What do you want, and why have we been surrounded?" Said Arthur
"We want half your supply of quartz." Said Humak
"Ok. Let me talk with my crew, and I'll get back to you." Said Arthur
"Ok. We shall await your hail." Said Humak
