After the first task everything seemed to be going good. Harry and Ron were friends again so the group was back together finally. And the Yule Ball was announced.

The Yule Ball had caused quite the chaos, everyone was scrambling for a date and Aurora already had some luck in that arena. Nearly half the boys in their grade had asked her to go with them and even some older boys asked her she even had girls ask to go with her.

She of course denied all of them politely and suggested someone they should go with. Aurora wanted Ivan to ask her to go together but it seemed like he was ignoring her or avoiding her.

"I don't get it, Hermione. I mean we kissed and suddenly I don't exist anymore? What sense is that? I happen to know I am an excellent kisser so it couldn't possibly be that." Aurora shook her head. The two of them were supposed to be studying in the library but Aurora would not stop talking about Ivan.

"I mean I just don't get it? Maybe it was something I said? I can't even remember half of what we talked about. Or maybe it was that—"

"Aurora! Please stop talking about Ivan, I'm trying to study." Hermione interrupted, with a huff and then continued doing her work.

Aurora sighed and rested her chin in her hand, staring at her open book without really seeing it. The Yule Ball announcement had stirred up a lot of excitement and nerves within her, and Ivan's distant behavior wasn't helping. Nether was the fact that Mcgonagall had sent a letter home about her starting fights with other students, specifically Pansy.

Aurora sighed, tapping her quill against the parchment and starring out the window. She watched as rain pattered against the window for the whole time she was supposed to be studying.

"This is mad. At this rate I'll never get a date." Ron began, flopping down onto one of the armchairs in the Gryffindor common room.

Aurora looked up from her Charms homework, an amused smile playing on her lips. "Oh, come on, Ron. It can't be that bad."

"It is that bad!" Ron exclaimed, throwing his hands up in exasperation. "Every girl I've asked has already got a date, or they just laugh and walk away. I'm running out of options here!"

Harry, who was sitting next to Ron, tried to offer some comfort. "You'll find someone, mate. We've still got a bit of time."

Ron sighed heavily. "Easy for you to say. You're famous. You could get a date just by looking at a girl."

Harry blushed and shook his head. "I don't know about that."

Aurora chuckled. "Ron, you just need to be a bit more confident. There are plenty of girls who would love to go to the ball with you. Just think of who you want to ask and go for it."

"Easy for you to say as well! Remind me how many guys asked you to go with them?"

"Twenty-Seven. But that's not the point, Ronald—"
