*Kaylin's POV*
I'm embarrassed.
I am so damn embarrassed by the fact that Charlie and his friends know who I am.
And the fact that they were even embarrassed to look in my direction?
Aunt May and Uncle Blake are so sweet and felt very welcoming, they seem to understand.
But Charlie couldn't even form a sentence.
This was a mistake.
This was such a big mistake.
I have never been insecure about my job. I mean hell, even Brayden's parents know what I do for a living, both of his little brothers, and his older sister and I have never felt embarrassed.
If anything, I embrace it as a part of who I am.
But having 4 teenage boys stare at their feet while actively trying not to look at me? I don't want to ruin their vacation by making them uncomfortable.
"Kaylin." Troy peeked his head in our room.
I gave him a small smile in the mirror as I was braiding my hair back.
"You're not in your bathing suit yet?" He stepped in and closed the door behind him.
I shook my head. "I figured I'd just, stay here today, let you enjoy your family."
He raised his eyebrows, pursed his lips, and nodded. "Ok. Now how about the truth?" He crossed his arms.
I sighed. "Troy I'm fine. I just, I think I should go home. I don't want them to be uncomfortable the whole week, and-"
"No." He shook his head. "Kaylin they're not uncomfortable. They're shocked that it's you and embarrassed that they got called out. It's nothing you did-"
"It is though Troy. It's my career and it's so embarrassing that-"
"Ok, stop, please." He walked over, pulled me up off the floor, and sat me on our bed. "Will you please listen to me?"
I sighed and nodded.
"Thank you." He let out a small smiled and grabbed my hands. "I went and talked to Aunt May before I came in here, and her exact words when I asked her how she felt about you heel dancing was 'She helps women embrace their confidence, I don't see anything wrong with that.' And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that kid. It's your career, yes, but it's also a part of you, it brought out your confidence and that confidence is one of the things I love about you. Don't ever be embarrassed about it. As far as Charlie, Caden, Owen, and Bobby, they're 16-year-old boys. The only girl they have ever been able to have a full conversation with without blushing is their friend Caroline, and if she would've came this weekend she would be ripping on them more than Lach and I are about to. If you feel ok doing it, screw with them they way you do everyone else. Baby once they spend a day with you and see how you act around me and Lach, they'll realize that you're not just heels, ass, and hot. So I am asking you, please put on your bathing suit, relax and read while Lach, the boys and I make food for the boat, and come have a great day with us, please?"
I took a deep breath and nodded. "I'm sorry."
"You have no reason to be sorry." He shook his head. "I already talked to them, I told them they couldn't act like that around you because I knew this is exactly how you were feeling. Lach and I gathered them and talked about it, they asked their questions, they're good. I promise."
I sighed. "Did they at least know I was going to be here?"
"Yes, they knew. Aunt May and Uncle Blake knew who you were, they looked you up and they're very impressed. I didn't tell Charlie who you were because you do want to be private, and I wanted to talk to him in person about all of this. Everything is fine baby. Stop over thinking, take your meds, and relax. I don't know when we'll be back, so I recommend calling your dad before we go." He leaned forward and kissed my forehead.
