*Nolan's POV*

I have devised a plan to keep my mind off of Kaylin being in Cancun all week with her new dude.

But, to no fail, it became clear to me that my dad shot that shit down the second he handed me the work schedule for the week in the truck right now.

I sighed. "Dad these aren't even half the hours I asked-"

"Nolan, you are not working doubles all week. You becoming a workaholic when you're having problems is not happening. You need a coping method, we will find you one, but I am not going to let you become Bruce 9 years ago."

"I am fine. Just occupying my time." I nodded.

"And that's great, you can do that, but you're not doing it at work. I am not going to over work you, or let you over work you. End of discussion. That is me as your father, not your boss." He shook his head then pulled the truck over on the side of the road.

I didn't even notice the broken-down car with the hood open if we're being fair. Or the pretty little blonde whose green eyes you can see clear as day in the rearview mirror. Hair long enough that it reaches her waist. Clearly headed to the gym due to the gym attire.

The only reason I'm actually riding with him today is because I left my truck there last night so I could change the oil this morning.

"Put your work shirt on so she knows we're mechanics." He buttoned his up before he opened the door.

I slid mine over my head and hopped out with him.

"Young lady, are you alright?" He approached the girl slowly.

She looked terrified, but then she looked down and sighed in relief. "I'm sorry."

"No you're ok." He nodded. "That's why we put the shirts on. Is everything ok?"

"I don't know what happened." She shook her head. "It started smoking, then the lights flashed, and it just, shut off. I just moved to town, so I don't know where the closest shop is, and I have no service."

"Yeah, there's never any service through this part of town." I shook my head. "We uh, we can run back and get the tow truck. You can ride back with us if you'd like to."

She pursed her lips and looked at her car. "I uh, I really don't want to leave it here."

"We'd hate to leave you alone with no service." Dad shook his head.

"We won't. We'll have her steer her car, I'll hook it up to your truck with the tow strap, and I'll push."

"It's 5 miles Nolan." Dad nodded.

"You don't want to check it first?" She scrunched her face.

"We don't have any tools in my personal truck, and if it's smoking and just shut off, that's something that'll require better light and tools." Dad gave her a small smile. "What's your name sweet heart?"

"It's Lucielle. But everyone calls me Cici." She nodded.

"Well Cici, I'm Jason Rock, and this is my son Nolan. I own Rock Repair about 5 miles from here. Are you willing to let us do that to get you out of the dead zone and somewhere safe?"

She let out a small smile. "Thank you."

"Of course." Dad smiled.

I closed her hood for his as dad grabbed his tow strap.
