Monday morning dawned bright and early, and Varun woke up with a sense of determination. Today was the day he would confess his feelings to Prisha. He had spent hours thinking about it, rehearsing the words in his mind, and preparing a special card for her.
Varun arrived at the office early, his heart racing with excitement and nervousness. He took a deep breath, steadying himself, and sat down at his desk, waiting for Prisha to arrive.
As he waited, he fidgeted with the card, his fingers tracing the edges of the paper. He had written his heart out in those few lines, pouring out his feelings, hopes, and dreams.
The minutes ticked by, and Varun's anticipation grew. He glanced at the clock, willing the hands to move faster.
Finally, the door swung open, and Prisha walked in, looking radiant in a yellow sundress, her hair tied up in a ponytail. Varun's heart skipped a beat as their eyes met, and he felt his resolve strengthen.
As soon as Prisha arrived, they exchanged pleasantries, and Varun tried to sound casual despite his racing heart. They chatted about their weekends, and Prisha mentioned she had a meeting with their boss later that morning.
Just then, their boss walked in, and Prisha excused herself to prepare for the meeting. Varun watched her go, feeling a sense of unease. He had been so sure this was the day he would confess his feelings.
After the meeting, Prisha returned, looking pleased. "Hey, Varun, I just applied for a long weekend holiday starting Friday," she said, a hint of excitement in her voice. "I'm going on a vacation with friends to the beach!"
Varun's heart sank, feeling like he'd been punched in the gut. Ten days without seeing Prisha? It felt like an eternity. He tried to muster a smile, but it felt forced. "That sounds like fun," he said, trying to sound casual despite his disappointment.
Prisha didn't notice his unease, too caught up in her excitement. "Yeah, I need a break. I'll be back in ten days, refreshed and ready to tackle new projects!"
Varun nodded, feeling shattered. He had been so sure this was the day he would tell her how he felt. Now, it seemed, he would have to wait. And what if she returned from her vacation with changed feelings or, worse, with someone else?
The weekend came quickly, and before Varun knew it, Friday had arrived. Prisha packed up her things, beaming with excitement, and bid farewell to her colleagues. Varun watched her go, feeling a mix of emotions: sadness, longing, and a hint of jealousy.
The next ten days passed slowly for Varun. He went through the motions of work, but his mind was elsewhere. He wondered what Prisha was doing, who she was with, and if she was thinking of him.
As the days ticked by, Varun found himself counting down the hours until Prisha's return. He imagined their reunion, wondering if she would sense the change in him if she would notice the depth of his feelings.
Finally, the day arrived. Varun woke up early, feeling like a kid on Christmas morning. He got dressed, his heart racing with anticipation, and headed to the office.
As he sat at his desk, sipping his coffee, he couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, Prisha's return would bring a new chapter in their relationship. Maybe he would finally find the courage to tell her how he felt.
The clock ticked closer to her return time, and Varun's excitement grew. He took a deep breath, steadying himself, and waited.
See you in the next chapter... where the clock strikes the appointed hour, but Prisha will come back?
