"Sir, there is a new case. It's a murder. We need you at the spot. Its Avery forest. Can you come by Sir?"

"I'll be there in 30 minutes. Who is the victim?"

"We don't know yet sir."

"(sigh) okay"

I am Amril. I don't have a last name and that's not worth explaining now. I am a cop. When I was kid I loved solving small thievery done by my siblings, since then they used to call me a mini cop, and I liked it. No one really stood against my dream like how they did with my sisters so my dream became my profession. I know its hypocritical, but yeah. As a kid I didn't have a say in anything. It is what it is. I'm 28 years old now. And I have a fiancé who I totally admire. She's my soulmate if that kind of thing is real. She basically works as a kindergarten teacher and she loves her job. We live together. We basically first met on a supermarket. We often met and later we found out that we live in the nearby neighborhood. But nope it was not friends to lovers. It was friends, fellow mourner, then lover. To put it in a simple way once she accidentally read the case I was working on and we discussed it all night. It was a sexual assault case. We both shared the same view and that is when I saw a different her. Her name is Iustitia. But she doesn't love it. So she 'orders' others to call her Tia. I proposed to her last week in Avery forest as a freaking coincidence. Argh... I should better get going.

"How long will it take to identify the person?" I asked the person taking the samples of the dead body. "Depends sir. Usually we go through the missing reports and follow. It might take time. I would suggest you move on with the case in your own way" he said. So that means I have to go through the whole forest for evidence and any trace of CCTV through the way. Fish, this is the worst type of murder case I've witnessed through my career. The body looks like it was tortured and later left out for animals to feed on but in fact the face id stabbed too many times. Any further details will come out to light after the autopsy. Shit. "Did u find anything else related to the case? Phone? Watch? Hair? Weapons? anything at all?" I asked James, the one who called me earlier. "nothing yet sir" "what do you think is the motive Jamie?" I asked James. James is a young recruit. I often quiz him to keep him on his toes. "revenge, I presume sir. This man's sexual parts are damaged more than others. Maybe this is a payback. But its really gruesome sir. This man's a real devil. He tortured a man to extreme" he said.  "Hmm. When we get back, I want you to write a report on what u saw and said. Also mention the wrong points of your theory" I said and was walking towards the exit I heard Raul coming running.

"Sir, they found a car parked about a mile from here. Also sir..."

"SAY"

"The victim seems to be Mr. Scarcer Leon. Our communication minister" Raul said.

"Who else knows?" I asked the most important question right now.

"Commissioner and a few subordinates sir. The commissioner ordered that you should handle. Also the news of minister shouldn't be broadcasted yet" Raul finished.

"Looks like there is some pressure from the top lid. Inform everyone who knew about this case to shut their mouth. If any news regarding the identity of victim is revealed I will personally rip them of their title. The identity of the victim will only be revealed after the autopsy and DNA confirmations. Jamie and Raul will be under my team and others who know this case in and out make a list of them. The elections are nearing. They would not want something like this to happen anywhere in near future. Also collect any samples found in the crime spot. We need to work wild. James, watch the autopsy results and make it look like the minister is on a foreign trip alone. Make it real and his family must believe. Take a sample of his voice from any call records or meeting or anything and run it by AI and make the voice do all the phone calls to his family. I think you'll manage the rest. I'll need to get going. The commissioner must want to see me" I said and moved from there. looks like there is going to be a mountain of work in coming days.
