Robin and Vance played some soccer with some other people whilst the others were watching on the sidelines and chatting to the girls who were also watching. The girls were making flower crowns them as they chatted away. Donna was doing it for Finney, Gwenny for Griffin and Amy for Bruce. Billy just watched and didn't say anything. Would it be weird if he asked. He turned to watch the soccer, seeing Vance score a goal and look to see if Bruce had seen. He had. Billy swore he could see literall hearts in his eyes.
"Billy?" A soft voice spoke. He turned his head and looked at Gwen. "Would you like a flower crown?"
"Uh. Sure." She got up and sat down next to him. He picked some Daisy's from the ground and put them in a pile for her to use.
"We're in the same math class. Aren't we?" She pointed out, and he nodded.
"Yeah. You sit in front of me." Billy had always admired how smart she was at mathematics. He had no clue the whole time.
"Ok, I'm done." She took Billy's cap off his head and placed on her own as she giggled.
"What?"
"Your hair is a little messy." She moved in front of him and leaned over and played with his hair, trying to get it into its normal shape. "You've got really soft hair."
"Yeah, I guess." He secretly hoped no one could see his face flushing bright red. Billy had always had a thing for Gwenny, but he never told anyone. Finney would kill him.
"Gwen, stop flirting with my friends." Finney scoffed as he saw how close they were being. Imagining his sister dating someone, especially his friends, made him feel weird. "How would dad feel about this?"
"You can't tell Daddy anything because there's nothing to tell. I was just being nice. Dipshit." She mumbled the last part, but Finney still heard. He huffed loudly.
"Do you always have to swear?" Finney wasn't a big swearer. He didn't like it. He did it sometimes, but his mum raised him better.
"If you don't want me to swear, don't give me a reason, too. Simple." She handed the flower crown to Billy and walked away, not wanting to speak to her brother any longer.
"You didn't have to by like that." Donna scolded him as she slapped the back of his head.
"Alright! Sorry." He wasn't trying to upset her. He just wasn't amazing at wording things sometimes. He would just have to talk to her later.
Vance came over and lunged himself to the ground next to the Bruce, grabbing his water bottle and glugging all the water as he tried to gain back his breathing.
"Nice crown." He complemented, staring at the flowers in Bruce's hair. "Looks cute on you." Bruce frowned.
"You just drank all of my water." Bruce's lips formed a pout, and he crossed his hands. Vance couldn't resist laughing. He found Bruce cute like that. He reached his hand out and pinched Bruce's cheeks.
"Sorry. I'll buy you something later." Bruce stared at him unimpressed. Vance lied back, using both arms for support.
"Can I make you a flower crown?" Amy asked hopefully. Vance huffed a small laugh.
"Fuck no! I'm not a pansy." Everyone looked at him with the same 'unbelievable' face.
"You literally just said it looked good on Bruce." Donna scoffed at him. She really has never met anyone like Vance. He was a person who never thought twice about doing things or saying what was on he mind, like he didn't have an off switch. Donna wondered if that was why he got in a lot of fights.
"Yeah, on Bruce. Not me." He took another sip from Bruce's water, earning a glare.
"Just let me do it. No one's going to think any less of you." Amy stared at him with serious but judgy eyes.
"Fine. Whatever."
