The Chronicles of Aaval: Vol. 1 The Awakening

Prologue

I have been home, at the castle, for less than an hour, and I want to leave already.
Since I've arrived, I have been pacing my room back and forth. I'm so nervous my hands are sweating.
A knock on the door got me holding my breath.
Ser Frederick, the commander of the royal guard, was at my door.
-Your Highness - he said, bowing his head - the King is ready to see you at his study. -
- Of course. - I said, and we left to meet with the king, my father.

- Jackson- my father, said as a way of greeting.
-Where is Bram?-  he asked. He was furious.
- We haven't found him yet or any of the other heirs. My King.-
- I got the same report from the other families.- he said, running his hands through his hair.

Tomorrow, I'm heading to the Government Lands for a meeting with the other Royal Families.- he said
-I need you to take care of some business while I'm gone.- he added.
- What business? my King-  I know what's coming....he is going to punish me for failing.
- Business that requires of your special talents, my son- he said with an evil smirk, that sent shivers down my spine.
- Find Ser Aston, he will give you directions.- he said, and with a hand gesture,  he dismissed me.

This is going to be my chance.
With the king away from Elise, I can gather information. I know somehow my father is behind all this, I just need proof 

Last Friday

The idea of traveling by ship seemed like a good idea  until we found ourselves in the middle of the sea at midnight. Even though we are with Perseus, the sea still freaks me out.

The mood within the group is the same as it's has been all day long.

We are still processing all the information we got this morning.
If we fail, it will cost the life of thousands, if not millions of citizens.... and, maybe, even our own lives.
