Part 2

JAX

It's almost 9 pm.
I'm sitting in the back of the tavern, in the shadows, dressed like a royal guard. I'm facing the map that was set up on the wall.
Three commanders of the royal guard walked in, followed by a group of over one hundred guards that took every inch of the tavern.
- As you all heard, the crowned prince disappeared with a group of other royals, and nobody could find them. This setback does not change our plans. As soon as King Barth gives the order, we march.-
Everybody started to cheer.
The commanders gave orders to their men, and they left.
I'm need my spies in the camp. Without someone infiltrated in the camp, I can't gather enough information.

I couldn't risk calling anyone, so I took it to myself to locate my team.
We got together in the smithery.
I sent 4 of them. Two of them as guards, two as "entertainment." I know men like to talk after sex. My girls are experts in extracting information.

When I came back to the castle, we received word from my father. They are coming back already. The meeting went to shit. Three Kingdoms, including ours, declared themselves free and promised war if the crowned heirs don't come back alive.

I rushed to my room and packed all the shit I could fit in a backpack. I took my motorcycle instead of my horse and went to the port. I took my ship and sailed west to the Government Lands. I know my father takes the eastern route, and I don't want to cross paths with him.

I made it to our apartment in the city by midnight. I was so tired I passed out in my bed.

The morning light was streaming through the curtains when I saw a shadow move in the hallway.
I rushed out of my room to find my brother standing in the kitchen.
- you son of a...-
- no, no, no little brother. Not with mom-
I run to him. He meet me halfway. I hugged him like never before.
- I thought...-
- I know. I'm here now. - he pulled away.
- Let's have breakfast, and I will tell you everything.- he said, turning on the stove.
