The irritating sounds of crickets disturbing the peace of this dark night. Along with this human bustles near a cave. The cave, Hyunjin's guard had found. It was probably the safe place of this jungle at least to shelter them from the tears of the moon.
Bonfire illuminating inside the cave just to give the warmth to these humans on this shivering cold night.
Felix was curled near the fire, looking at the burning woods and flames of it.oh how fire burns yet it has become a necessity of human beings.
He didn't want to look in front of him where a monster in the form of human sitting. He could feel the piercing gaze of Hyunjin. Other guards were sleeping here and there on the rocks of cave only these two people were awake.
The silence punctured through the king's soft chuckle, as he brought a piece of meat near to the fire to cook. Felix was resting his head on his knees whose gaze darted to the king. He looked divine when his sculpted face reflect with the light of fire.
Hyunjin smirked at the painter, then he looked at his piece of meat. "Here, eat it," he offered to the painter, Felix glance at the piece of meat. He thought this man was a monster but now he was proving it.
"Eat it, what's wrong?" Hyunjin inquired, Felix flickered his gaze to the king.. just by the presence of king he felt trembles throughout his body. How this man's aura have snatched all the courage of Yongbok.
"How can you eat this?" Felix asked just to get a soft chuckle from the king. "What's wrong with it? After all it has meat in it." Hyunjin protested, as he himself took a bite of it. Then he looked at Felix with lit eyes.
"And its better than the meat of chicken," Hyunjin stated. Felix scrunched his nose disgusted. How terrific that animal, hyenas look and now this man was eating them like it's just a piece of cake, well of course it's a piece of meat.
"Just try once," Hyunjin again offered. Felix looked at the king eating it, he gulped. His hunger seemed to betraying him but he was adamant, he wasn't like this monster.
"I don't want to" Felix protested again setting his head on his knees looking away. His body trembling due to chilliness yet hunger. Hyunjin just shuggered, cooking other meat as well.
Hyunjin's gaze tugged upon the painter's petite figure, he was intrigued to know about this figure more, it seemed like his history was mysterious than the royal history. He could see the painter's body shivering but didn't bother to offer the warm clothes he was wearing, he wasn't a softie boyfriend of melo dramas.
"Come closer to the fire, I don't want you to die" Hyunjin again disturbed the silence. Felix didn't glanced at him, "why do you care?" He just articulated in a mumble. But Hyunjin heard it. Hyunjin chuckled.
"I don't want you to die due to cold before portraying my queen's painting" Felix heard a hustle from Hyunjin's side instantly pulling his attention. He looked over it just to see Hyunjin getting up and coming towards him. The unknown shivers started to ran through his spine, did he triggered the king.
Hyunjin came closer to him and sat beside him. Felix's breath was stucked at his throat. The presence of king beside him arousing the creepy fear inside him.
"I miss my queen so much," Hyunjin spoke, as he scooted closer to Felix. "So sad you're not her," he spoke further making Felix bewildered. He followed his gaze to the king who was literally so close to him sitting behind..
"If you were my queen I would just engulf you in my embrace and wouldn't let the cold bother you," Hyunjin's words puzzling through Felix's mind. Well, he didn't care, he didn't want to be in those arms.
His eyes widened when he felt a cloth covered his body, it was warm and smells like sandel wood. Felix couldn't comprehend what just happened, he heard Hyunjin getting up and going to his previous seat.
Felix looked at him surprised. Just to meet by that usual mysterious yet annoying smirk. "I told you I don't want you to die at least not by this cold, if you have to die I'll be the one who shreds your limbs," Hyunjin answered having a bite of his meat.
The words of Hyunjin tinged in his senses, how could he expect something good from this monster, at least be grateful he wanted to keep him alive even if it was for his desires.
Felix sighed, rested his head on his knees while remembering his mother. What she was doing now? She was all alone, who's gonna take care of her now? Just by her thoughts Felix's eyes glimmered with the crystal of tears. Would he ever get to see her again, or was it just his last phase of life now.
Hyunjin examined the painter, he could hear the sobbs, how irritating. "Are you testing my patience?" Felix flinched at the voice, triggering his sense. He tried hard to muffle his cries. Curling even more.
Hyunjin clicked his tongue in annoyance but didn't bother to ask the painter what happened. This boy is so naive and always cries so irritating..fucker .... He thought, leaning against the stony wall of cave, closing his eyes... fighting with his insomnia.
"Stop crying, let me sleep," the king said, his eyes closed, breathing low and relaxed. Felix sealed his mouth tighter with both hands, muffling his sobbs. No matter how much he wanted, it was hard for him to just let it go and not cry.
His eyes flickered to the king, even the new morning couldn't bring a new day in his life from now on, because every day will be the same, counting the days of his never ending misery.
