Chapter 2: Patrol Jump

Dakota: Alright Easy Company! New orders, I want 1st Squad to split up into patrols.

Perry: And my Squad, Captain?

Dakota: Weapons Squad is joining a Tank Platoon and will be guarding the Command Post.

Perry: Command Post?

Dakota: Colonel Porter has set up Battalion CP outside the hangar.

Perry: Why isn't it inside sir?

Dakota: No room to fit it. The hangar is already half way full with the C-47, not to mention the four P-51s and the entire Armored Battalion being stored.

Perry: Yes Captain.

Dakota: Alright, Dark, Hall, Eddy. You're with me in the Battalion CP. Sergeant Farley, pairs are up to you.

Fred: Alright Captain Walker.

Dakota on the Platoon HQ walked off to the Battalion Command Post as Fred looked to his Squad, wanting to even out the effectiveness.

Fred: Alright, Petty, you're with me. Dougherty, you and Hobby are a pair. Golf, you're with Morgan. Noble and Fields are together. Sparkler you take Wilson.

Lester: Then I'm with Oattey.

Fred: Right.

Fred the pulled out one of the distributed maps.

Fred: We'll each take a quadrant of the area. We can only cover so much ground as pairs so be ready to cover a lot.

Gus: What are we looking at Sergeant?

Fred: Me and Petty will take Building 23, 19, and 17 for patrol. Doughboy, and Hobby will take the Dormitory area. Golf and Morgan will be patrolling Buildings 10, 3 and 4. Noble, Fields you have Buildings 29, 12, and 11. Sparkler and Wilson will get Buildings 24, 9, 8, and 7. Finally Oattey and Ewing will be joining Doughboy and Hobby considering they have about 6 buildings.

Gus: Yes sir.

Fred: Alright, I'll see you all tonight for dinner. K-Rations and D-Rations for tonight boys!

Golf: Oh hell yeah! We have D-Rations!

The men from the E Company Platoon, celebrated at the fact they had access to D-Rations which was literally just chocolate. The main reason why the Platoon had K-Rations and not food from Beacon's cafeteria, well. Beacon Academy is able to accommodate all of the students, but with 700 people showing out of nowhere, food was handed to out the men in groups and certain times.

Fred: All right, all right. Settle down boys. Let's get these patrols up. But first, we need to talk to a Tank Company.

Richard: Why sir?

Fred: Colonel Porter wants the tanks to also do patrol routes. As such, each patrol will take a Sherman with them for patrol.

Harry: Got it, sir.

Timeskip, 30 Minutes Later

Currently the Easy Company Assembled 1st Platoon and Tank Platoon were driving out of the hangar in a column and now down one of the pathways.

James: So, any of you guys understand why we need to do patrols?

Tanker: Not one bit. Hank? Techie?

Techie: No idea Tanker.

Henry "Hank": No Idea too.

Tyler: Just grand, well. Smokes Noble?

James: Yeah, hand it here Fields.

Tyler then handed James a cigarette as he lit it.

Tanker: Hand me one.

Tyler then turned around, handing Tanker a cigarette too as Tanker lit the cigarette.
