"Take my hand" Lou said whilst reacing down cupping her fingers round James's.
They crossed the road and James's palm was sticky and Jack's lead in her other han pulling her ahead. She then let go of James when they reached the pavement outside the cafe and looped Jack's lead round the table leg.
"Sit, good boy" she said as she stroked his head as he looked up at her.
She then opened the door to the cafe and ushered James inside.
"I am a good boy too" James said.
"Good boy, James" she said patting his head as she scanned the sandwich shelf. She then picked out 4.
"Hi Luna" she said whilst smiling as she handed over the money.
"Hello sweetheart. Big Sheene dinner plans?"
"No just need some sandwiches for us hungry troops."
"Ah I see." Luna said.
"Would you tell your mum I will pop by next week with my sewing machine?"
"I shall do, thanks." Lou took the paper bag from her and turned back to James.
"You can play on my phone" she said whilst digging it out of her pocket.
"Yes" he said whilst taking it and scrolling straight to where the games where.
Lou then walked over to this girl who looked very familiar.
"Hi, Venessa, isn't it?"
"Yes, do I know you?" Venessa said.
"No you don't but I am Louise I live in town."
"Oh wait" Venessa said.
"Don't tell me. You are the girl who is doing a assignment on your murdered husband?"
"Wh- wh-" Lou stammered.
"How do you know?"
"I heard someone meantion it."
"Can I ask you a few questions about Ryan?"
"What kind of questions?"
"Do you know if he got any money off his parents?"
"Sorry , I don't think this is a good idea" she said.
"No I am sorry" Lou said stepping back.
"Its okay. It's just that things are finally settled."
Lou waited several minutes and then followed her out and suddenly felt glad she had changed her T-shirt.
"Alright" she said unhooking Jack's lead from the table.
"Let's go home."
"Don't think that lady liked you" James said.
"Were you being unkind?"
