"Hey babe you coming home with me tonight?"

"Go away Evan I'm not in the mood to deal with you and your perverted mind right now." I snapped at the annoying boy that was blocking my locker. It was the end of the day and all I wanted to do was grab my jacket from my locker when Ian, the well known bad boy, decided to pay me a visit.

"Come on sugar you know you wanna." He said and I snorted, not a common reflex for me but when it came to Neanderthals like him I wouldn't bother being lady like.

"No thanks."

"Ah common Juliet baby." He taunted and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at him. For the last few weeks he's been determined to get with me which I have declined ever offer to. Why me I have no clue but I do know it drove me crazy yet it was slightly enjoyable. Mainly obnoxious.

"Evan you moron, step away from my friend or I chop your limbs off." A voice say for next to me and I instantly know it's Alex. I turned to see her glaring at Evan as if she had laser vision or something to kill him with only her eyes. The girl was never afraid to get in a fight if she felt it necessary and unfortunately for guys like Ian, they always did things she felt necessary.

"Ah, if it isn't the little devil herself. Well I hate to get in your way ladies but I hope you consider my offer Juliet." Evan said and sauntered off leaving Alex to scoff in his direction.

"Man he's so full of himself. Has he not given up on getting you yet? I thought he would've given in the first week."

"Apparently he's real determined which I find rather sad considering it'll never happen."

"I don't know, good girls fall for bad guys." She taunted giving me a smirk. I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah right."

"Well anyways, I have babysit Jason at my place while his parents are out of town for the night since they don't trust him, so obviously Taylor is going to be there and he's bringing Danny. Will you please come and keep me company among the idiot boy species that are invading my home." She begged me. The girl loved her cousin and was completely head over heels when it came to Danny but she also hated being around a bunch of guys whom she pegged as stupid as heck.

"You do realize one of those idiot boys is your boyfriend right?"

"He's the worst of them all. Save me please."

I couldn't help but laugh. "Sorry but I have a diner shift tonight."

"You suck girly you know that right?" She said jokingly.

"Yeah yeah."

Working two jobs as a teen is hard enough. Now add having to maintain a perfect grade point average and taking care of 3 younger siblings it gets chaotic. That was my entire life at 17 so I was always on edge. So when the last person I possibly wanted to show up at my waiting job showed up, I wasn't happy.

"Welcome to Ryan's what can I get you?"

"The pretty little waitress right in front of me would be nice." Evan responded as he looked me up and down. His ratty tennis shoes, in reality no better than mine, were plopped up along the booth and I pushed them down.

"Off limits to perverts."

"Snappish. Alright I'll have a pepperoni pizza for here and a cheese to go."

He ate his pizza and waited there, refusing to pay the bill, until closing. Then he payed and left, or I presumed until I was grabbed around the waist when exiting the building. I tried to scream but he whipped me around to see him.

"What the heck Evan? You gave me a heart attack." I hissed at him, forcing him arms down from around me, and he smirked at me. I pissed me off even more that he found it amusing.

"Common babe it was only a joke. Let me walk you to your car."

"First off don't call me babe. Second I'm walking home."

"It's nine at night girly. You are not walking home in the dark. Common I'll give you a ride." He offered almost seeming concerned with my well being which I found a little odd but brushed it off.

"I do it all the time, I'll be fine."

"Doesn't matter I'm giving you a ride whether you like it or not so either you just let me or I drag you. Your choice." He said and I reluctantly agreed seeing no way out.

When he pulled into my drive way he looked at me.

"How about we make a deal."

"Not gonna happen."

"Hear me out, I leave you alone for good if you spend time with me next week. All next week and I pick the activities."

"I'm not touching you if that's what you're getting at."

"It's not. We have a deal?" He asked and put out his hand which I eventually shook after a moment of thought. Bad idea, probably, but it also sounded a little exciting.

"Deal."

The majority of the week passed and I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. The last six days Evan had either taken me to random places like amusement parks or laser tag or hung around with me while I worked. It was pretty fun.

He wasn't too bad of a guy in the long run. Sure, he was a perverted idiot who chased after the wrong girls but he was also pretty fun to be around most of the time. He loved the birds at the zoo and I couldn't help but enjoy watching him talk to them like it was a completely normal conversation which it probably was to him.

"Hey girly, you even watchin'?" Evan asked me nudging me a bit. I looked at the screen, a car chase from some random action movie was playing on mute. I looked at him and he had the remote in one hand and an eyebrow raised at me.

"Sorry just lost in thought."

"Aw, ya thinking 'bout me?"

"Yeah." I replied absent mindedly to his teasing, not really realizing I had said it, and he looked at me in shock. He quickly shook it off and put the volume back on as we continued to watch the movie on the couch in my living room. All the kids were out for the first time ever so I had the house to myself, well besides my older brother upstairs. All the sudden he turned my head to face him again.

"So this is the last day." He stated and I couldn't help but notice the disappointed tone.

"Yep."

"So...You still want me to keep my side of the bargain?"

"Honestly? Not really." I said as I turned my head back to the screen.

"Huh?" He asked at my response and I faced him again after a second.

"No I don't but I still don't trust you. If I let it slide you're just going to hurt me and I seriously don't want to bother with that."

"What'd make you trust me?"

"Something that's honest for once." I said and he kissed me. Just like that. But for whatever reason I couldn't help but kiss back a little. Something about it just proved it to me, whether it was the kiss itself or the way he looked at me when we pulled back, that he was telling the truth. That it was real.

"Please, just give me a chance." He asked of me and for whatever reason I complied by throwing my arms around him. He hugged me back and buried his head in my neck making me smile as I could feel his own against the side of my neck. It was nice and that was really all I needed.
