As we sank into the car, our collective sigh echoed through the air. "Arg, I will snatch that girl's neck!" I exclaimed, still fuming. Jessy turned to me, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Anyway, what really happened in there?" she asked, her voice laced with amusement.
I stared off into space, replaying the scene in my mind. But Jessy's snap in my face brought me back to reality. "Earth to you!" she said, giggling. "We kissed!" I blurted out, and Jessy let out a squeal of delight, jumping up and down like a rubber ball.
"Stop!" I hissed through my teeth, trying to contain my embarrassment. But Jessy just laughed, her eyes shining with mirth. "Girl, you just kissed your crush and don't pretend like you ain't got no feelings for her!" she teased, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
I rolled my eyes, trying to brush it off. "Arg, I just hate her right now. And she's not my crush. Don't be delusional." But Jessy just chuckled, her grin mischievous. "Well, that makes the both of us. Anyway, that chicken of yours is such a party popper. We need to get some weed and booze. We both need that right now."
We drove to the liquor store, the tension between us palpable. After grabbing a bottle with some serious kick, we headed to Stacy's place – our go-to dealer, who just happened to be an old flame. She answered the door in a sultry short dress, her curves tantalizing. "Hey, papi, u good?" she purred, kissing my cheek.
But when she spotted Jessy, her cheeks flushed pink, and she hastily retreated behind her gate. Jessy and I burst out laughing at the awkward encounter.
