A silence falls after Chiyabashira-sensei asks Ayanokoji to come out. He hesitates to emerge from his hiding place.
Chiyabashira-sensei: "If you don't come out, I'll expel you."
Horikita: "Why are you doing this, Chiyabashira-sensei?"
Chiyabashira-sensei: "It was necessary."
Horikita turns to leave.
Chiyabashira-sensei: "Wait, this discussion might give you a hint on how to reach Class A. Fubuki, you stay too."
Horikita: "Make it quick."
Chiyabashira-sensei smiles while looking at her notes.
Chiyabashira-sensei: "Ayanokoji is an interesting student."
Ayanokoji: "Not as interesting as someone with a strange name like Chiyabashira."
Chiyabashira-sensei: "Are you going to bow down to every Chiyabashira in the country?"
Ayaki chuckles quietly to herself.
Chiyabashira-sensei continues: "Entrance exam results: 50 points in Japanese, 50 points in math, 50 points in English, 50 points in history, 50 points in science, and 50 on the recent test. Do you know what this means?"
Horikita, surprised, looks at Ayanokoji.
Horikita: "This is impossible, it's intentional, isn't it?"
Ayanokoji: "It's just a strange coincidence."
Ayaki thinks, "Yeah, sure..."
Horikita: "You're really going to pretend these results are a coincidence? That's absurd!"
Ayanokoji: "As I've said, it's a coincidence. You have no proof it's anything else."
Chiyabashira-sensei: "Only 3% of first-year students solved the math problem number 5, yet you did. On the other hand, you got the problem number 10 wrong, which 76% of the students got right. Is that normal, in your opinion?"
Ayanokoji: "I don't know what's normal in this world. It's just a coincidence."
Chiyabashira-sensei: "I admire your attitude, but your behavior could cause you trouble."
Ayanokoji: "I'll deal with it when the time comes."
Chiyabashira-sensei turns to Horikita and Ayaki.
Chiyabashira-sensei: "So, what do you think?"
Horikita: "I think he's probably smarter than he lets on."
Ayaki: "I believe he's telling the truth. (Even though I don't believe it at all, better not stir things up.)"
Everyone looks at Ayaki, surprised.
Ayaki: "Maybe he just doesn't like studying and doesn't want to do his best."
Chiyabashira-sensei, sighing: "Think about all of this. The staff meeting is about to start, so I have to ask you to leave."
She pushes them all out and closes the door. Ayanokoji begins to walk away.
Horikita: "Wait!"
Horikita catches up with him.
Horikita: "Was it really just a coincidence?"
Ayanokoji: "As I said, it's a coincidence. Unless you have evidence to the contrary."
Horikita: "No, I don't. But I don't understand why you'd avoid trouble and not aim for Class A."
Ayanokoji: "You seem to have unusual thoughts about Class A."
Horikita: "Why shouldn't I? I want to succeed for a better future."
Ayanokoji: "That's a normal ambition. So, you're aiming for Class A?"
Horikita: "I want to understand this school's intentions and why I'm in Class D. But yes, I still aim for Class A."
Ayaki: "That's going to be tough. Ayanokoji, are you going to cooperate?"
Ayanokoji: "What if I refuse?"
Horikita: "Are you really going to refuse?"
Ayanokoji: "Yes."
Horikita: "I'm glad to hear that."
Ayanokoji: "That's not what I said."
Horikita, smiling: "I heard it in your head. I don't need your brains, just your strength."
Ayanokoji: "Why should I just be the muscle?"
Horikita: "If you follow my instructions, I promise you positive points."
Ayaki: "I'll help as best as I can, even though I'm not really interested in Class A. After all, Horikita seems to think no one in Class D is competent enough to assist her."
