Ayaki was quietly walking around the campus, enjoying a rare moment of freedom after an intense week of exams. She didn't have anything particular on her mind, just a desire to escape the constant noise and pressure of the classes. The sky was clear, and a gentle breeze caressed her face, bringing her a welcome sense of relief.

As she passed by the small park at the back of the campus, she noticed a familiar figure sitting on a bench. It was Ayanokoji, sitting there with his eyes raised to the sky, as if observing something invisible. He didn't seem to notice her presence. Ayaki hesitated for a moment, then decided to approach him.

She stopped in front of him, hands in the pockets of her jacket. "Hey, Ayanokoji."

He lowered his gaze to her, looking slightly surprised, but didn't make any sudden movements. "Hi, Ayaki."

She looked at him for a moment before asking, "Can I sit down?"

Ayanokoji made a small gesture with his hand to indicate that the bench was free. "Of course."

Ayaki sat down next to him, enjoying the silence that settled between them. She didn't have anything in particular to say, but she appreciated the company of someone who didn't feel the need to fill the silence with unnecessary words.

After a while, Ayanokoji spoke, gently breaking the calm. "Nice day, isn't it?"

Ayaki nodded. "Yeah, it feels good after all that stress."

They stayed there for a while, watching the trees and the clouds slowly drift across the sky. The calm of the place contrasted with the usual bustle of the campus, and Ayaki felt almost soothed by the atmosphere.

After a moment, she stood up, ready to continue her walk. "I'm going for a walk. Do you want to come?"

Ayanokoji looked at her for a moment, then nodded. "Why not."

They set off, walking side by side without really talking. Ayaki appreciated Ayanokoji's quiet presence, someone who, like her, seemed to prefer silent observation over the constant chatter of their classmates.

As they crossed a small bridge, they came across Kushida, who seemed to be returning from the main building. When she saw them, she gave them a big smile and approached.

"Ayaki! Ayanokoji! Wow, you're walking together?" she asked with a hint of surprise.

Ayaki smiled at Kushida. "Yeah, we're just enjoying the peace. What about you?"

Kushida stopped beside them, visibly pleased to see them. "I just finished a meeting with the student council. But I finished earlier than expected. Are you guys going anywhere in particular?"

Ayaki shook her head. "Not really. We're just walking."

Kushida nodded, her smile widening. "Do you guys want to go to the café? I feel like getting a cold drink."

Ayaki glanced at Ayanokoji, who gave a slight shrug, indicating he was okay with it. "Why not," she replied to Kushida.

The three of them headed to the campus café. Once seated at a table near the window, they ordered their drinks and continued chatting about light topics, deliberately avoiding talking about exams or classes.

True to herself, Kushida led the conversation with her usual enthusiasm. "It's really nice to take a break. Sometimes I feel like we spend all our time stressing about classes."

Ayaki nodded. "Yeah, it's important to take breaks."

Ayanokoji, for his part, remained mostly silent, responding only with nods or short phrases. Ayaki found this dynamic rather pleasant; she didn't need to put in much effort to keep the conversation going, which suited her perfectly.
