A dark secret 1/3

I was in my room alone packing to go back to Alfea, a couple of days ago Monica told me the truth and all these thoughts started running through my mind.

There had to be more to the story, what else are they hiding from me, and why did Darwin seem so chill about it?!

Nothing made sense but I couldn't help but feel like I was overreacting when I remembered how calm Darwin took everything in compared to me.

I heard a buzzing noise and saw my phone on my nightstand kept buzzing. I picked up my phone and saw it was varian, I opened his contacts.

Varian: Y/n?

Y/n: varian! What's up, how's your vacation going?

Varian: Not the best. How about yours.

Y/n: it's pretty uh—out of there to say the least.

Varian: Is that a good or bad thing?

Y/n: I don't know myself actually, I guess it's in between.

Varian: Do you want to talk about it

I smiled slightly at his message but began to think to myself, I didn't want to be a burden to him or anything. It seemed like whenever we hang out I just burdened him with my problems.

Y/n: no it's fine Varian.

Varian: You sure?

Y/n: I'm sure! Hey but can I ask you something?

Varian: sure you can.

Y/n: Do you wanna get some smoothies when we get back?

Varian: at our usual place?

Y/n: yeah, the smoothie bar. Apparently they added more combinations and are let you pick your own combinations out of the new ones.

Varian: that sounds like fun. I'll pick you up then.

Y/n: thanks varian!

Varian: anytime, y/n.

"Well done Judy, you get an A. Now y/n it's your turn." Ms. Faragonda said as she glanced at our other teachers who were also there to grade us.

I sat next to Stella distracted, my mind entirely on what happened over vacation. Stella nudged my shoulder to get my attention. I looked at her and she gestured to Ms. Faragonda who was smiling at me patiently waiting for me at the center.

I got up and went into fairy form, I walked to the center and looked at the rose a few spaces away from me in the air, the rose seemed to be trapped in a bubble which kept it able to stay in the air.

Ms. Faragonda snapped her finger and out came a green sparkles, the sparkles turned into rays of sunlight and I quickly avoided them. If those things touched me I would automatically fail. (Fix)

The lights kept popping up and I used my wings to fly in away or avoid them in time, I looked back at the rose and saw I was only getting further away from it. I furrowed my eyebrows and tried to think of ways to avoid the light and get closer to it but it felt impossible as the light kept spawning closer to me.

I saw a huge shadow coming from above me and I looked up and screamed as a huge circle of water was falling towards me, I put my hands up and out came a small fire. It surrounded the water and seemed to squeeze it dry and the water evaporated and the fire exploded into small burst of flames.

I tried to fly to the rose after that but unfortunately one of the lights landed on me, I sighed and Ms. Faragonda frowned. "Maybe next time, Y/n." I nodded in agreement and went to go sit down next to stella again.

Flora glanced at me and frowned "you okay, y/n?" She asked concerned and I slowly nodded "yeah, my mind is just somewhere else.." Flora gave me a reassuring smile and looked back at Ms. Faragonda.

"Wow, it looks more packed compared to before. Those new combinations must be good." Varian said as he parked his wind rider near the smoothie bar, we got off his wind rider and he took off his helmet. I took off my helmet and he put out his hand for it, I gave it to him and he began to properly put them away.

Varian was telling me about how Prince seemed happy that the vacation was over and seemed more clingy after being separated from the boys.

I smiled as varian kept talking about Prince, one thing for sure Varian sure loves animals, he could go on and on about them and never grow bored.

"Prince sure sounded happy to see you the most, varian" I took a sip of my smoothie and his smile grew, "you really think so." I nodded "yeah, you said Prince practically pounced on you the second you entered the school. I think that shows how much he loves you."

Varian looked at me momentarily "how's your first day back going?" I thought back to today, honestly I wasn't really focused on much besides the whole Monica news. "Well I flunk my test today" Varian raised an eyebrow "they gave you a test already?" I nodded and then my phone buzzed.

"Sorry, let me just check this real quick.." I said and Varian nodded in understanding. I took my phone and saw Darwin had texted me. I looked shocked and kept rereading the message over and over again. Varian looked at me curiously "you okay?" I looked back at him and placed my phone down on the table.

I laid in my bed and kept thinking about Darwin's message. "Sneaking into the cloud tower archives, how crazy is he.." I sighed and heard a soft knock on my window.

I got out and onto my balcony and I saw varian standing right there with a helmet in his hand. "Varian..Where's Darwin?" I asked curiously, "he's waiting for us near the gate. He told us to hurry." He hands over the helmet to me. I looked at my pajamas then back at him, he was still looking at me and didn't seem to get the hint. "Varian..I'm still in my pajamas" he blinked a couple of times and did an oh expression. "Right, right. You just take your time.."
