As Vitani and Claire made their way out of the venue, they talked excitedly about the concert. Claire skipped along beside her mother, clutching her signed guitar pick like a precious gem. Vitani's heart felt lighter after her conversation with Johnny, and she was thankful for the kindness he had shown.
Just as they reached the parking lot, Vitani heard someone calling her name. She turned to see Johnny Thunders jogging toward them, his face lit with determination.
Hey, Vitani, wait up!" he called.
Vitani paused, surprised and curious about what he might want to say. "Johnny? Is everything okay?"
Johnny caught his breath and looked at her earnestly. "I’ve been thinking… I’d like to help out more. I mean, really help. I know what it’s like to have to fight through tough times, and I’d love to be there for you and Claire."
Vitani blinked, a mix of gratitude and disbelief washing over her. "What do you mean?"
"Well," Johnny began, "I know you’re doing an amazing job on your own, but I’d like to offer more support. I’d love to help with Claire, you know, spend time with her, and maybe help you out when you need it."
Before Vitani could respond, another voice chimed in. Walter Lure, the band’s guitarist, approached with a friendly grin. "Hey there. I heard what Johnny was saying, and I just wanted to add that we’re all happy to help out. Claire's a great kid, and we’d love to have her around whenever you need a hand."
Vitani was taken aback by their offer, a sense of relief and warmth spreading through her. "I don’t know what to say. This is… incredibly generous."
Walter nodded. "We’ve all been in rough spots before, and if we can help you focus on work and know that Claire’s safe and having fun, we’d be glad to do it."
Claire looked up at Johnny and Walter, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Really? I can hang out with you guys?"
Johnny laughed and nodded. "Absolutely. We’d love to have you around, Claire. You can be our little roadie, how about that?"
Vitani chuckled, feeling a weight lift from her shoulders. "That would be amazing. I can't thank you enough."
Johnny smiled warmly. "We're glad to help. Just promise to let us know if you need anything, okay?"
With that, they exchanged phone numbers and made plans for their next meeting. Claire was thrilled at the prospect of spending more time with the band, and Vitani felt a newfound sense of hope and gratitude for the support they had found.
As they left the parking lot, Vitani realized that sometimes, even in the most unexpected places, there are people willing to help lift you up when you need it most. With Johnny, Walter, and the rest of the Heartbreakers by their side, Vitani and Claire faced the future with renewed strength and the assurance that they were no longer alone in their journey.
