Johnny Thunders sat on the edge of the bed, his guitar resting gently against his leg as he strummed a few soft chords. Vitani stood nearby, brushing her hair, a small smile playing on her lips as she watched him. The room was filled with a comfortable silence, the kind that comes after years of shared memories and love. Claire, their daughter, was out with friends, leaving the two of them alone for the evening.
Johnny looked up at Vitani, his eyes filled with a mix of love and contemplation. “You know, Vitani,” he began, his voice soft, “I’ve been thinking a lot lately… about how much Claire means to me. She’s grown up so fast, and I couldn’t be prouder of her. But there’s something else I’ve been feeling.”
Vitani paused, turning to face him fully. “What is it, Johnny?”
He set his guitar down and reached for her hand, pulling her to sit beside him on the bed. “I love being Claire’s dad. She’s amazing. But I missed so much of her early years because I wasn’t around as much as I should’ve been. I was lost in the chaos of it all back then. I didn’t get to be the kind of dad I wanted to be when she was little.”
Vitani squeezed his hand, understanding where he was coming from. “You’ve been a great father, Johnny. You’ve been there for Claire when she’s needed you most.”
He nodded, his eyes reflecting a deep sincerity. “I know, and I’m grateful for that. But I’ve been thinking… maybe it’s time we try for another baby. One that I can be there for from the very start. I want to raise them in the music life, show them the world, and be the father I couldn’t be when Claire was little.”
Vitani’s heart swelled with emotion. She knew how much Johnny loved Claire and how much he had changed since they became a family. The idea of having another child, of bringing a new life into their world filled with music and love, was something she had also thought about.
She smiled at him, leaning in to kiss his cheek. “I think that’s a beautiful idea, Johnny. I’d love to have another baby with you.”
Johnny’s face lit up with a rare, genuine happiness. “Really?”
“Really,” Vitani confirmed, resting her head on his shoulder. “We’ve built a life together, a family. I think another baby would make it even more complete.”
He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. “I can’t wait to start this new chapter with you, Vitani. And I promise, I’ll be the best dad I can be.”
As they sat there, wrapped in each other’s embrace, Johnny couldn’t help but feel a sense of peace and excitement for the future. He was ready to embrace fatherhood again, this time with the love and support of his rock-and-roll family by his side.
