Jay's POV

It had been an easy day thanks to the storm, which none of the group had any problem with. Most of the problems would end up with 51 dealing with. Lots of trees had fallen and there were plenty of power outages all over the city.

"Hey dummy, you listening?" I looked up to see y/n staring at me with a smile. "Sorry got distracted." She gave me a confused look. "by what? We ain't got any cases and your desk is empty." She laughed. "I can't be distracted by your beautiful smile anymore huh?"

"Not when you ain't looking at it." She laughed. "Alright everyone, head home before the storm gets so bad you can't." Voight's voice echoed through the room.

"Yes!" Y/n whispered. "Let's go before he changes his mind." She whispered quickly grabbing her bag. I understood my role and grabbed the keys to my truck and my coat. "Sweet freedom!" That she gladly said for everyone to hear. Everyone laughed even Voight.

We got to the truck and headed to my apartment. On the way there it started pouring down rain, it was almost impossible to see anything. "Should we pull over?" Y/n asked. "We aren't far from the apartment but I don't think I'll be able to know where I'm going."

Crap! I'm not where I thought. "We aren't where I thought. I'll have to pull over." She just smiled at me. "I know." She laughed showing me her phone. "We are near Herrmanns actually." She said surprised. "Oh we are only a block from him."

"Really? Dang I'm really not where I thought I was." She just burst out laughing. That's when we heard a knock on the window, we looked over and were surprised at who we saw. "Lee Henry?!?!" Y/n shouted opening the back door letting him in. "what are you doing?" She yelled.

"I was coming home from a friend's and I got caught in the rain. When I saw Mr. Halsteads stop I thought you saw me." He laughed. "Jeez, okay we'll take you home." I stated. "Put in the address so I can hopefully follow it."
Y/n did what I asked and showed me the phone.

When we got to Herrmann's house i noticed the door open. The rain had let up a bit but not much. "Come on, you'll never make it home safely in this." Lee Henry said before getting out of the car and opening y/ns door and dragging her in.

I followed behind, by the time we got into the house we were soaked. "There you are!" Herrmanns said before he realized us. "Oh. You guys okay?"

"Besides being really wet yep!" Y/n smiled. "Oh you poor things! Let me get you some towels!" Cindy said going to the bathroom and grabbing lots of towels. "Let's get you out of those soaking wet clothes." Cindy said grabbing y/n and taking her upstairs.

"I'll grab you some clothes. You can use our guest bathroom to change." Herrmann laughed as he watched Cindy zip off with y/n.

Lee Henry had gone up to his room leaving me with Herrmann. Yeah okay it's freezing.

It had been a few hours since we had ended up at Herrmanns and the rain had only gotten worse. "You can stay the night here since the rain seems like it won't let up anytime soon." Herrmann offered.

"Thanks Herrmann." I said. "Least we could do since you got Lee Henry home." Cindy said as she brought us hot coco. "Ooo!" Y/n was excited about the coco. Herrmann and Cindy smiled at her excitement.

Just as she got the drink the power went out as we heard a transformer explode. "Well I'll grab the candles." Cindy said leaving us. "I'll grab the flashlights." Herrmann said getting up.

Y/n snuggled closer to me after finishing her coco. "jeez did you not take a brake?" I laughed. "I was cold." She said with a smile as she put her arms around my waist pulling herself closer to me. "I'm still cold and you're warm."

I smiled as she clung to me. Herrmann came back and smiled at y/n, Cindy came back with candles and blankets. "You two are adorable." Cindy smiled. She gave me more blankets and started lighting the candles.

Y/n POV

When I woke up I saw Cindy smile at me as I tried to move. That's when I realized Jay was basically on top of me. He was clung to me his head on my chest and his arms around me.

I snuggled closer to him and decided I'd go back to sleep. He was just so warm and I couldn't move even if I wanted to so I gladly let sleep over take me.

I was happy to stay next to him, his warmth taking over me, and the darkness filled my eyes as they closed. My last thought, that I got to fall asleep next to the man I love.
