Family Night (boy reader)

A/n: A full fluff one shot! It's family night with the Halstead brothers!

Little backstory: Will had a kid come into the ER and called Jay for help when he found out the kid had been kidnapped, they helped the kid and now he's staying with them until his family can get him. Which in this isn't for like a few days because they live really far away. But yeah Will and Jay saved the kid and now are keeping him safe until his family arrives.

Y/n's POV

Will was really nice, I hadn't trusted his brother at first since he's a cop but when I realized he wanted to help and could actually do so I knew I could trust him.

My mom and dad were coming to get me but they had to get flights and stuff so it'd be at least two days before they could get here. My family loves me, but even all the security they had didn't stop me from being taken. I didn't blame them, how the hell could they have known it would happen.

Will was nice to me from the start, he seemed to realize I needed help from the moment he walked into the ER room. I'd come in on my own after I managed to escape, and once I knew I could trust Will I told him everything.

He called his brother and they both helped me. After everything they had already done for me they both said I could stay with them until my parents got here.

"You alright kid?" Jay asked tapping my shoulder making me jump slightly. "Sorry." He said with his hands raised. "Spaced out. I'm okay. I think." I didn't really know if I was okay after everything that had happened, was I actually okay? Or was I just pretending to be?

"You can talk to us if you want. You're not alone in this." I knew they both wanted to help, especially Will but I didn't know where or how to start. "Maybe later..." They both gave me a half smile.

"Umm... I was wondering..." I felt bad for asking, but I wanted to take my mind off of this whole situation. "What's up?" Will asked. "Could we make brownies? I love making desserts, and so I was wondering if we could make something."

"Hell yeah!"  "Jay!" Will slapped his brother upside the head. "I mean, heck yeah!"

after we went to the store we got back and started making brownies. After we put all the mixture into the pan I stole the bowl and a small spoon and scraped the leftover brownie mix out and ate it.

"Don't make yourself sick." I heard Will say from the kitchen. "Dude don't ruin the fun. Besides I'm the one with a whole bag of marshmallows." Jay joked.

"Hands off, those are for the brownies. And I'll know if you stole some." I said and watched as Jay put the bag back down.

"Smart move. I take my desserts very seriously." I said proudly. They both smiled at me. We waited for the brownies to cook and once they did we added marshmallows and roasted them then let them cool off before we cut them up and ate them as we watched a movie.

It was nice hanging out with them, I'd never had any siblings so it was fun to know what it would be like to have brothers. "You guys are the best."

"Glad to hear."

Will's POV

After watching two movies y/n had fallen asleep between me and Jay. The kid was pretty strong for a 12 year old who'd been through what he had. I was happy he asked for help but worried that once he went home it might happen again.

His parents had lots of security from what he said but he was still taken. That scared the hell out of me and Jay, we both worried that y/n might have to deal with this all again, we worried that if there was a next time it might not end so well for him.

"You think he'll be okay?" I asked seeing that y/n was completely asleep. "He's a strong kid. And Voight already has someone out where he lives to keep an eye on him. Voight wants to make sure this kid is safe as much as we do."

Although I hadn't always liked Voight he was starting to earn my trust. I was just happy someone would be there for y/n if he needed. After a little while Jay had fallen asleep too and eventually so did I.

At least for now I knew that this kid was safe, even if only for a while I could make sure he was safe.
