Chapter 29: Memory Lane

Ever since finding out that there was a werewolf in Mystic Falls Grayson has stayed quite close to the Forbes twins. The Salvatore had saw how scared Piper was when the wolf had tackled Caroline when they were in the woods and he wanted to make sure that nothing would happen to either of them.

Jenna was having a BBQ today and Elena had invited both Piper and Caroline over as she knew that the two were having a bit of a hard time since they've been turned. Piper was surprised when she found out that Ric had invited Damon who then invited Grayson. She was confused as she didn't know when Ric and Damon had actually become friends, she thought that Ric hated the vampire, like actually despised him as Ric had tried to kill Damon only a few weeks ago.

By the time that Piper had arrived with her sister, she had noticed how the adults had already started on the shots. The blonde immediately grabbed a bowl of snacks, a tip she had gotten from Grayson was that the help her cravings for blood was to eat food. Noticing the absence of both her sister and friend, Piper left her boyfriend in the company of his brother and the other adults to go outside. There she found on the front porch were the two girls. Elena was worried about Stefan since he hadn't shown up.

"Is that Stefan?" Piper questions as she sat down in the chair next to Caroline who immediately stole a few of the snacks from the bowl. "He hasn't called me back. I'm trying to decide if I should be worried." Elena sighs. "I'm sure he's fine." Caroline immediately shrugs off her friends worry. "God, I cannot stop eating." Caroline comments as she eats more of Piper's food. "Yeah, I can tell." Piper glares at her twin as she moves the bowl of food further away from her reach. "Grayson says it's a great way to sublimate the cravings. You know it's horrible, just fighting the urge for blood... every minute of every day."

Elena nods her head in some understanding. "I know that Stefan really hates that part of himself." She reveals and it wasn't that hard to have already guessed that. It was obvious to anyone who knew that Stefan was a vampire that he didn't enjoy his nature of having to survive on blood. "Well, yeah. I mean, he hates that you're a constant temptation." Caroline comments causing Piper to give her sister a strange look. "He said that?" Elena questions to which Caroline nodded her head. "The desire to rip out your jugular every time he's with you? Trust me it's there."

"But it's not so bad when you've already fed on blood. Once you learn to control it, it's easier to ignore." Piper adds as she glares over at Caroline. She had no idea why so was saying what she was, Piper could tell that it was making Elena question a lot of things. "It's why I had to break up with Matt." Caroline continued, ignoring her sister.

The three of them were sitting in silence for a moment before Alaric came outside telling them that the food is ready. Wanting to get away from the awkward situation, Piper jumped up from her seat and made her way inside where Grayson greeted her with a kiss on the top of her head.

After they had all had their food it was decided that they were going to play charades. As Jenna had already had quite a few drinks she was quite tipsy which Piper found extremely amusing as the woman was becoming very competitive and so was Caroline. Piper had also noticed how Damon was not being subtle at all as all he's drawings were related to wolves, making a dig a Mason Lockwood who they suspected to be the werewolf.

"Puppy! Puppy with a tutu!" Caroline exclaims hoping to win a point. Piper was just sitting with Grayson and watching everyone become completive and yell out random answers. It was like they were watching their own amusement show. "Dog, hound, hound dog! You ain't nothing but a hound dog!" Jenna yells. But it was Mason who took the point with 'Dances With Wolves'. Hearing that she had lost Jenna complained about Damon's lack of drawing skills.
