We walked to the school gym and I gave him some boxing gloves. He was punching the bag. After about 10 minutes he stopped.
Nick: you feel better?
Hayden: I'd rather be punching bens face but yeah
Nick: you in the right mind for lessons?
He just shrugged
Nick: what's your next lesson?
Hayden: English
Nick: you okay to go?
Hayden: yeah. Archie is in that lesson so he'll keep taking me out
Nick: come on then.
We walked to English and he was late. He walked in and sat down
Nick: Mr Daniels (Frankie) can I have a word outside?
Frankie: sure. Right I want you all to get on with the starter on the board. Make sure you have an answer for each question as I might pick on you to answer.
He came outside
Frankie: is everything okay?
Nick: there was a bit of an incident at lunch with Hayden. He's still a bit wound up so I'm not sure how he'll behave. He might kick off he might not. I just wanted to warn you.
Frankie: what can I do for him?
Nick: not much. Archie's gonna try and have a handle with things but it may result in him removing Hayden from the lesson.
Frankie: okay
Frankie went back in and I left

Hayden pov
I sat next to Archie but I just zoned out
Archie: Hayden
Hayden: huh?
Archie: try and get an answer down
Hayden: I'm not doing it
Archie: you've had a good day so far don't let what happened at lunch ruin it. Just try
Hayden: I can't read the question
Archie read the questions and I wrote the answer
Archie: what is an adjective?
Discribin werd
Archie: what is a noun?
Persun, plase or fing
Archie: grab a worksheet from the front
I got up and got it then sat back down. It was a word search
Hayden: I hate these
Mr Daniels: with the word search the letters in bold create a word. First one to figure it out gets 5 positive points.
I put my hand up
Mr Daniels: yes Hayden
Hayden: can I go to the toilet please?
Mr Daniels: course you can but there and back.
I got up and walked around for a bit before going back.
Mr Daniels: you got your report?
Hayden: I put it on the desk
Mr Daniels: I don't have it
I checked my pockets and I found it so put it on his desk
Mr Daniels: right so today we're gonna do some descriptive writing. Hayden can you hand these out for me?
I got up and handed out the booklets then sat back down.
Mr Daniels: I want you all to try and get to at least page 3. You have to write at least 2 paragraphs on each picture. There are some sentence starters and a writing frame to use. You don't have to use these they're just there to help you. If you are struggling I do have a templete where you can just fill out the words. You have until the end of lesson and I'll mark them ready for next lesson.
Archie: you understand what you have to do?
Hayden: yeah
I looked at the picture and it was of a funfair
Archie: have you been to a funfair before?
Hayden: I used to go all the time with my mum and brother. My dad would be working and me and John would beg her to take us to the fair.
Archie: okay so to make it easier you could just write about your day at the fair. Describe the environment. You could start by describing what you can see.
Hayden: this is boring
Archie: I know but it's what we have to do
I put my hand up
Mr Daniels: yep Hayden
Hayden: Can I have the other sheet please?
He passed it to me. I got on with the sheet. Halfway through I was getting really bored so I stood up and went to the window.
Mr Daniels: Hayden can you sit back down please?
I went and sat down. I was tapping my pen against the table
Archie: Hayden
I stopped and was tapping my feet on the floor
Archie: break
Hayden: yes
We got up and went outside. I was doing laps of the track field then went back to English. When I sat down the bell rang.

I grabbed my report and went to maths.
I sat down and Archie sat beside me.
Mr Mathews: Hayden can I have a word outside?
We went outside
Hayden: am I in trouble?
Mr Mathews: not at all. This is good news actually. I've spoken to Mrs Ballard and she's organised for you to move up to set 3 starting this lesson
Hayden: really?
Mr Mathews: yes
Hayden: what if I'm not ready? What if it all goes wrong?
Mr Mathews: you'll do well. Mrs Ballard wouldn't agree to it if she didn't think you could handle it. She didn't take much persuading. She's actually been keeping an eye on your grades and behaviour. She was gonna wait until after half term but she wanted to see how you would get on before committing to moving you to set 3. So go to the class next door. You'll be with Miss Keane. You can take your book with you. I'll catch up with you after okay
I got my stuff and went to the class next door
