Requested by hylnnd: Tom and Y/N are married, and Y/N has a six-year-old son from her previous marriage. His dad is supposed to take him to Disneyland, but cancels at the last minute, which really upsets her son. Tom feels bad since Y/N's son hasn't spent much time with his dad recently, so he makes up for it by taking him and Y/N to a theme park for the day for some of their own family bonding.

"You PROMISED me that you wouldn't cancel this time! You promised HIM!" I yelled down the phone at my ex-husband as I paced the floor of mine and Tom's bedroom.

"I know, and I'm sorry! Something came up!" He exclaimed.

"Something always comes up, Dan! First your car mysteriously breaks down, then your bank cards mysteriously go missing, and now the woman that you left us for is ill, and so you're cancelling bonding with your son! At least you didn't try to make up some bullshit excuse this time, I'll give you that much." I spat.

"I don't know what you want me to say, Y/N. I'm sorry for letting Oscar down, I'm sorry, but she needs me right now." He scoffed.

"Oscar needs you too. You know, your son." I snapped before looking to my side. Tom stood leaning against the doorway, my current husband sighing and shaking his head at my son's deadbeat dad as he listened to the phone call with his arms crossed over his chest. I rolled my eyes to him, making him return it and nod as I continued to pace the floor. The start of my adult life hadn't been great, considering the fact that at eighteen, I had gotten pregnant and had felt obligated to marry my high school sweetheart who had gotten me into that situation. We were happy together, sure, but that was a far cry from wanting to spend the rest of our lives with each other, and so mere months after I had given birth to our son, things had started to crumble. Within a year, Oscar's dad had run off with some work colleague and had filed for divorce, which I had happily signed and then thrown back at him. After all, facing the world with just Oscar was a hell of a lot better than facing it with his dad too. But then it turned out, we wouldn't have to face it alone after all. Because a year after the divorce, I had met the love of my life. Tom. We had hit it off immediately, partially because whilst I knew very well who he was, I hadn't swarmed him or bombarded him. In fact, he had been the one to strike up the conversation with me, and the rest was history. When we had first started dating, I had been terrified to tell Tom that a child would come with me too, but he was never anything short of amazing with Oscar, and within a year and a half of meeting, the two of us were happily married. Life had been incredible ever since, with Oscar and I living happily with my amazing husband, and Oscar's amazing stepdad. The only bumps in the road were when Oscar's dad pulled shit like this, with the issue today being that he'd cancelled taking Oscar to Disneyland last minute in order to look after his sniffling wife. And well, I was pissed.

"You know what, Dan? Forget it, it's fine. Oscar doesn't need you, because he has Tom, who is ten times the man you will ever be." I snapped.

"Hey, that man is not our son's father." He spat back.

"He may as well be. Bye, asshole." I scoffed before hanging up. I sighed and closed my eyes, Tom giving me a sympathetic smile as he pushed off from the wall and walked towards me.

"You okay, darling?" He asked tentatively as he curled his arms around my waist. I sighed and opened my eyes again to look at him.

"Yeah, just wondering how I was stupid enough to let that asshole impregnate me at eighteen." I chuckled tiredly, making Tom give me a small smile as he raised his hand and gently tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.

"You weren't stupid, sweetheart, these things happen. And, it did lead to one of the best things in your life." He nodded.

"True. Speaking of which, I should tell him. God, he's going to be heartbroken." I groaned. Tom sighed and gave me another small smile as I walked past him, my husband following me as I walked through our apartment. I walked into the living room where Oscar was sitting watching TV, the six-year-old's eyes glued to the screen as he also fiddled with the Spider-Man action figure that was in his hands.
